  • A Mw 6.8 earthquake struck Western Turkey and Eastern Greece that occurred on October 30, 2020 in Kuşadası Gulf. The earthquake epicentre is located north of Samos Island and the focal mechanism solution shows that a normal fault was reactivated. The main shock and aftershock analysis imply that the large earthquake occurred on a north dipping normal fault which might be the western continuation of the Efes Fault in Western Turkey.

  • The present paper describes the voltammetric analysis of dipyridamole (DIP) at a cheap, disposable pencil graphite electrode (PGE). The working conditions were optimized with regard to the electrode material and the supporting electrolyte. Cyclic voltammetric investigations emphasized that DIP is irreversibly oxidized at the PGE. The electrode process is pH-dependent and controlled by both diffusion and adsorption. For DIP quantitative determination a differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) method in phosphate buffer solution pH 7.00 was developed.

  • Water loss is the major problem in rambutan which induces the browning of spinterns and ultimately reduces the consumer acceptance. Techniques which slow down respiration and dehydration rate were found to be more effective in increasing overall acceptability of rambutans. The efficacy of several pre-treatments in up regulating consumer acceptance of rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) fruit was examined. Dipping fruits for 5 min in 2 ppm ozonized water comparably reduced the browning of the fruit stored under room temperature (30±2oC; 80-85% RH).

  • In this study, raisin was produced from pre-treated grapes by tray drying method. Grapes were cleaned and soaked in a different type of solutions such as potassium carbonate, olive oil, soy lecithin, and sugar concentration for different immersion time. The pre-treated grapes were then dried in a hot air tray drier at 50°C and airflow 1.0 m/s. Results showed that drying time was varied for pre-treated grapes. The shortest drying time of 61 h) was obtained for those grapes which were dipped in 6.7 % potassium carbonate solution for immersion time of 5 min.

  • The present investigation was carried out during 2015-16, in the Department of Horticulture, V.N.M.K.V. Parbhani, Maharashtra. Aonla (Emblica officinalis) also known as Indian gooseberry is one of the oldest Indian fruits and considered as “Wonder fruit for health”. The aonla candy was made up by using different treatments i.e. sugar syrup solutions, dipping time and drying methods. There are two levels of sugar syrup concentrations i.e. 60% and 70%, three dipping times i.e.36 hrs, 42 hrs and 48 hrs and three drying methods i.e. sun drying, solar drying and cabinet drying.

  • This research was conducted to prepare apricot jam from the pulp of fresh mature apricots by using artificial sweeteners .Apricots were washed with clean water to remove dust particles. After sorting and pitting, apricots were cut into two halves and dipped in 0.1% citric acid solution to avoid browning. The pulp of apricots was extracted by using plumper. Apricot pulp was heated to get the desired consistency. Low heating was continued and brix were noted after every 20 minutes. Pectin with small amount of nonnutritive sweeteners were dissolved separately and added to the mixture.
