For the treatment of hypothyroidism, patients are usually placed on lifelong levothyroxine replacement therapy. Achieving clinical and biochemical euthyroid status is sometimes difficult because of several factors, including poor compliance or poor absorption of levothyroxine in the gut mucosa.

Right hepatectomy is a complex procedure that carries inherent risks of perioperative morbidity. To evaluate outcome differences between a low central venous pressure fluid intervention strategy and a goal directed fluid therapy (GDFT) cardiac output algorithm we performed a retrospective observational study. We hypothesized that a GDFT protocol would result in less intraoperative fluid administration, reduced complications and a shorter length of hospital stay.

Dermatophytosis is the major health problem in worldwide. The three genera of dermatophytes are Microsporum, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton. Among them, Trichophyton spp are the predominant ones causing infection and also associated with recurrence and resistance to antifungal therapy. The dermatophytic infections affect all age groups. The primary aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of dermatophytosis in SRM MCH & RC between JAN 2017- JAN 2018.

After observation, the second most important skill students will build in this proj- ect is the ability to look for the causes of observed effects. Kids will give the strangest answers when you ask why a car did something. Get them to look at the car and the ramp and come up with a plausible answer for your “why” question. When they have a plausible answer, ask them how to confirm if the answer is right. They could run a scientific experiment to verify their answer!

the beginning, medicinal therapy consisteodf concoctions coadministered with incantations. Little thought was given to dissecting out the contributions of the pharmacology of the concoction from the spiritual consequences of the incantations. Eventually, potions and extracts were recognized to have predictable activity that could be observed and described objectively. Then came the capacity to estimate potency,t o l eading concentration and purification.

Requirements for successful treatment of tuberculosis (TB) are that (1) correct medications are given, (2) compliance to the prescribed medications be assured, i.e., patient be on directly observed therapy (DOT), and (3) the patient completes a minimum number of doses considered necessary for cure. The entire diagnostic work-up and treatment of TB can be done in an outpatient setting for most individuals. An individual with suspected pulmonary TB may present in a wide variety of settings, such as an outpatient clinic or the emergency room.

Disparities in outcomes associated with race and ethnicity are well documented for many diseases and patient populations. Tuberculosis (TB) disproportionately affects economically disadvantaged, racial and ethnic minority populations. Pulmonary impairment after tuberculosis (PIAT) contributes heavily to the societal burden of TB. Individual impacts associated with PIAT may vary by race/ethnicity or socioeconomic status.

For comparing Aussiedler incidence and mortality with the German/Saarland population, indirect standardization was used. Compared to the method of direct standardization, the indirect method is advantageous when the stratum-specific rates of one of the populations to be compared are based on small numbers. In this case one can use the more stable rates of the larger population for the indirect standardization, thus gaining robustness with regard to sampling variation (Breslow and Day, 1987).
