This paper provides the calculation of the distribution of the concentrations of complex particles of the Sn(II) - citrate - water system in the solution volume, on the surface of the electrode, and in the diffusion layer for the tin citrate electrolyte containing an excess of the ligand. Based on the calculations for the electrodeposition of tin, an electrolyte containing [SnCit]2− complex at pH 8.0 was chosen.

Weirs are overflow structures used to measure flow or to control the water elevation. In sharp crested weirs sharp edge in the crest causes the water to spring clear of the crest and thus accurate measurements can be made and results beneficial to tail end farms in a field channel. Hence, sharp crested weirs are used for experimentation. The research project was envisaged with the following objectives to develop sharp crested rectangular weirs with 30°, 45° and 60° edge angles.

Most common reason for the waterlogging problem in the agricultural field is absence of an adequate drainage system. The sustainability of farm operations are highly vulnerable due to fluctuations in rainfall. Thus, the estimation of drainage design layout and identification of the vulnerable area for waterlogging are the most vital operations for achieving maximum yield of paddy inland. In this study, the Cypress creek formula‘s used for estimating discharge of each plot.

The field experiments were conducted to compute the Manning‟s roughness coefficient initiated during the flow in lined and unlined watercourses located at the Chhounia field near the field of AICRP on IWM and the Brick field beside the KV, Dr. RPCAU, Pusa (Bihar). The average bed slope of the lined watercourse was found to be 1.5 % whereas that of unlined watercourse was observed to be 0.2 %. . The discharge i.e. rate of water flow was determined in both the lined and unlined watercourses with the help of the weir and the Parshall flume, respectively.

Testing of agricultural sprinklers is necessary to find the optimum field operating conditions with minimum cost while satisfying design water distribution criteria. In the present study two twin-nozzle agricultural sprinklers were tested in field under ten different operating pressures ranging from 1.6 kg/cm² to 3.5 kg/cm². In each experiment sprinkler discharge rate, nozzle pressure, radius of throw, and water distribution pattern around the sprinkler were observed. The average discharge coefficients of the two sprinkler nozzles were determined.

The field experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of drip irrigation systems at protected cultivation unit of College of Horticulture and Forestry, Jhalawar, Rajasthan during 2013-14 and 2014-15. The performance of drip system was evaluated on the basis of parameters like average discharge (Qavg), field emission uniformity (EUf), design emission uniformity (EUd), application efficiency (EUa and Ea), coefficient of variance (Cv) and statistical uniformity coefficient (SUC).

In modern agricultural systems, chemical-based weed control is becoming difficult to ignore (usage of herbicides) in weed management because of its effectiveness to accomplish weed control and at the same time, increases yield largely. However, both economic and ecological attention the application of herbicide should be optimum.

Traditional type fertilizer broadcasters were with constant opening with gravity flow method which was showing high variation in discharge quantity of fertilizer between the rows and this lead to under and over dosage. A battery operated variable rate fertilizer broadcaster was developed and it consisting of storage tank, metering unit, spreading unit and variable rate controller unit was developed. To standardize the metering mechanism for the fertilizer applicator, a study was conducted on the existing fertilizer metering devices.

Common traditional screens (screens perpendicular and vertical to the flow direction) face extensive problems with screen blockage, which can result in adverse hydraulic, environmental, and economic consequences. Experimentally, this paper presents an advanced trash screen concept to reduce traditional screen problems and improve the hydraulic performance of screens. The traditional screen is redeveloped using a triangular V shape with circular bars in the flow direction.

Numerical simulation have been carried out to observe and predict the mechanisms of stationary mixed flows in a free surface channel combined with a closed conduit. This study has been conducted with a wide range of discharge values, based on a free rectangular channel (4.5x0.98x0.50 m) at the upstream combined with a closed rectangular conduit (4.5 m length), located at the end of the channel. The height of the conduit is fixed at 100 mm and the conduit width is varied to form several other geometrical configurations.

Subsurface irrigation has been the focus of attention mainly because of its low evaporation rate and deep percolation losses. Uniformity of water applications and its stability, however, are still a matter of controversy and deserve more investigation.

Trickle irrigation systems’ efficiency depends on system uniformity, which is determined by water discharge uniformity from emitters. It is impossible to produce 2 identical emitters due to manufacturing variations. The manufacturer’s coefficient of variance is used as a measure of discharge variations of emitters.

This paper proposes a 2D-quasi model for simulations of the lateral distribution of flow velocity and of unit water discharge in open-channel sections. The latters are obtained by solving the governing equation, which is derived from the Reynolds equations and allows for taking into account the gravity, bed shear stress, and turbulent diffusion force in calculations. Using the experimental data, a sensitivity analysis of modeling parameters, e.g. Manning coefficient and eddy viscosity was performed firstly.

The effects of expanded graphite, carbon fibre, needle coke and polyacene, when used as positive electrode additives, on the PbO2 electrode behaviour of lead/acid batteries are studied. It is found that, during the initial stage of charge/discharge cycling, all of the additives are able to raise appreciably the coefficient of utilization of the positive active material. By contrast, they cause, to differing degrees, a reduction in service life when a certain nitrogenous heterocyclic compound (AS) is added to the positive active material. ...
