The cellulose film impregnated with MnO2 nanoparticles was capable of efficiently discolouring an Indigo Carmine dye solution in 25 min upon ambient light. The film was easily removed from the dye solution and repeatedly reused for at least 10 times without losing its discolouring efficiency.

The aim of this work was to prepare metal soaps of epoxidized sunflower oil (ESO) and use them as thermal stabilizers for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). For that purpose, commercial sunflower oil was first epoxidized and then used to prepare (Ba, Zn, Pb, and Cd) metal soap derivatives, which were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The prepared metal soaps derivatives of ESO were used as thermal stabilizers for plasticized PVC.

Ce (III) salt-activated CeO2 nanoparticles were incorporated into waterborne epoxy coating to improve the UV stabilisation of epoxied system. The surface morphology of the coatings was examined by using color spectrophotometer during the UV exposure test. The degradation of the epoxy coatings was observed by the change of barrier property determined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The effect of activated nanoparticles on the impact resistance and adherence properties was also evaluated by impact strength test and cross-cut test.

In the present investigation efforts were made to evaluate different rice based fungicides viz; Trifloxystrobin (25%) + Tebuconazole (50%) WG, Tebuconazole (25.9%) EC, Carbendazim (50%) WG, Propiconozole (25%) EC, Hexaconazole (5%) EC and Mancozeb (63 % WP) against the mycelial growth of rice grain discoloration causing pathogen Curvularia lunata. Among all the fungicides tested, Trifloxystrobin (25%) + Tebuconazole (50%) WG and Tebuconazole proved to be completely effective in inhibiting the growth of the pathogen at low concentrations i.e.
