Ancestral wheat relatives are important sources of genetic diversity for the introduction of novel traits for the improvement of modern bread wheat. In this study the aim was to assess the susceptibility of 34 accessions of the diploid wheat Triticum monococcum (A genome) to Gaeumannomyces graminis var. tritici (Ggt), the causal agent of take-all disease.

Screening of some rice and wheat cultivars were tested for their resistance against rice root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne graminicola). The investigation was conducted on 19 Paddy cultivars along with 12 wheat cultivars, which showed evidence of damaging potential of Meloidogyne graminicola in terms of plant growth parameters and disease incidence. Disease intensity grade was classified on the basis of root knot index.
