There remain limited data on the epidemiological characteristics and related predictors of surgical site infection (SSI) after open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) for distal femur fractures (DFFs). We designed this single-centre prospective study to explore and forecast these clinical problems.

Internal fixation is recommended for treating Vancouver B1 periprosthetic femoral fractures. Although several fixation procedures have been developed with high fixation stability and union rates, long-term weightbearing constructs are still lacking.

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the clinical and radiological outcomes of a fluted tapered modular distal-fixation stem at medium to long-term follow-up. The hypothesis of this investigation was to verify if the use of this implant design may have provided potential advantages in femoral revisions and post-traumatic instances where the restoration of the anatomy was the prime concern.

Distally fixed cylindrical femoral stems extensively coated with porous materials are widely used in revision and total hip arthroplasty surgeries. Stem fracture is an uncommon complication; few case reports have been published.

Implant anchorage in highly osteoporotic bone is challenging, since it often leads to osteosynthesis failure in geriatric patients with supracondylar femoral fractures. Cementation of screws is presumed to prevent such osteosynthesis failure.

Most patients suffering from distal femoral unicameral bone cysts (UBCs) are adolescents that require an early return to normal activities, including school attendance and sports exercises. However, the optimal choice of implants for such patients remains controversial.

A nine months old local female dog, presented to Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary science, Assam Agricultural University with the history of automobile accident. Radiographic evaluation revealed distal end metaphyseal or supracondylar femoral fracture on left leg. An intramedullary pin was fabricated to arrow shaped pin and was inserted completely in retrograde manner for internal surgical immobilization of the fractured part. Robert Jones Bandage was also applied for two months to restrict stifle movement.

This book is a step-by-step, thoroughly illustrated guide to external fracture fixation techniques using the JET-X® system, featuring full freedom clamps. Chapters written by leading orthopaedic trauma surgeons describe the use of these techniques for femoral shaft fractures, supracondylar femur fractures, tibial plateau fractures, tibia fractures, pilon fractures, pelvic fractures, distal radius fractures, supracondylar elbow fractures, and humeral shaft fractures. More than 175 full-color illustrations demonstrate the techniques....
