This thesis is a detailed case study of implementation of an e-government initiative in Thailand-e-Revenue (the oniine tax payment system)-which is the country's most successful e-government process. This research used a single case study approach which allowed the researcher to examine the phenomenon in depth and to provide extensive understanding and explanation. The need to implement a national policy, the National IT Policy, was found to be the most critical factor in the successful implementation of the e-Revenue project.

The purpose of this research was to study the level of appreciation executive and senior managers have towards the contribution person-environment (P-E) fit attributes, in particular the person-organisation (P-O) fit and person-job (P-J) fit attributes, have in describing the competency of a project manager from the perspective of executives and senior managers who, within their respective organisations, are responsible for the workplace management team that directly manages short and long-term projects.

The research aims to develop an understanding of the extent to which collaboration occurs through the use of online technologies in the project management environment. Given the breadth of the technological landscape, this research focuses on the use of online collaborative toolsets (OCTs). The research investigates six Project Management Environments (PMEs) and their use of OCTs, and uses a Collaboration scale developed specifically to measure the level of collaboration existing within each PME.

Organizations have long struggled with the successful completion of projects within the time, cost and performance indicators with respect to a customer product or solution that is expected to ultimately meet the customer’s expectations. This thesis demonstrates the link between the successful creation, management and dissemination of project requirements throughout the entire project process using a knowledge management overlay model to ensure the success of the overall project to meet stakeholder needs through the successful creation and transfer of project requirements.

This thesis is comprised of eight chapters. Following this introductory chapter, Chapter 2 provides a summary of literature relating to OHS accountability and examines issues relating to OHS performance management. Chapter 3 presents a review of stakeholder, legitimacy and institutional theory literature. The research method employed is discussed and justified in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 presents the results of the stakeholder survey and in doing so describes stakeholder demand for OHS disclosure.

The thesis research followed a constructivist assumption to claim knowledge. The strategy of inquiry was the case study taking the multiple-case, comparative design. Three case studies were conducted in this thesis. The research method mainly relied on open-ended interviews supported by semi-structured interviews and triangulations using documentation and archival records. It basically took the qualitative approach. The three case study organisations are typical large organisations and major employers of the Hong Kong IT workforce.

This study makes explicit assumptions that underpin sound PM practice that forms the required infrastructures for PM practice. It compares best PM practice with PM practice on distressed and troubled projects that takes place within the context of post-disaster relief projects where there is a notable absence of characteristics of required identified PM antecedents. It reviews traditional project management and international aid and development methodologies such as the ‘Logical Framework’, Project Cycle Management and Evaluation and looks at the best in each.

This study was experimental in nature and the research was based on a quantitative approach tailored to minimize threats to validity through the use of a control group. Additionally, it involved elements of related qualitative research to interpret findings. An empirically-based, working hypothesis was presented to the effect that, a greater potential of project success can be realized by introducing information on emotional development to enhance behavioral competencies of all project team members.

This thesis approaches from the perspective of state management agencies in policy making to attract private investors to PPP projects in the power generation sector. There is an approach from the theoretical basis system to attract private investment in the form of PPP in the power generation sector in Vietnam. A practical approach is through surveys to assess the impact of these factors on the willingness of private investors to invest in PPP projects in Vietnam as well as assessment of the current situation.

The selected research designs for this thesis are cross-sectional and case study and as mentioned above Iran has been chosen as the case study of this thesis. Secondary data and contextual data are used for this thesis and are discussed comprehensively in Chapter 2 (Literature Review) and 3 (Methodology). The research strategy is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative strategies leading to selection of suitable methods for collecting the primary data.
