This study aims to collect and systematically document the traditional knowledge of poisonous plants by interviewing Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic communities in Quang Tri province. A total of 56 poisonous plant species (27 herbs, 15 shrubs and 14 woody plants) of flowering plants belonging to 26 families and 50 genera were found in the study site. Based on the Recorded Poisonous Plant Proportion (RPPP) values, 25 commonly recorded poisonous plants were selected for analyzing Fidelity Level (FL) and Informants Consensus Factor (ICF).

Lots of indigenous agricultural know-how is available with the farming communities especially in tribal people of Tripura.

A study was conducted among 240 farmers sampled from Jaipur and Ajmer district of Rajasthan state. Indigenous practices were documented the interview schedule regarding indigenous knowledge about agriculture practices was developed. The interview schedule was developed by investigator through reviewing the available literature, consulting experts of different discipline of agriculture and by discussing with farmers. Finding of the study revealed that summer ploughing was diploid by highest number of farmers (92.66%); seed soaking in water was the most common practice.

The indigenous technical knowledge (ITK) regarding animal husbandry is considered as old as domestication of various livestock species. Unfortunately, these practices which are in vogue throughout the rural India are little documented and there is danger of extinction of this knowledge. Thus it is become imperative to collect and document these practices. A semi structured interview schedule was used for the data collection from 10 traditional healers and 120 livestock owners.

Indigenous technical knowledge plays an important role in traditional dairy farming. In due course, there is danger of extinction of this knowledge. It is of paramount importance to document these practices and to assess their validity. Hence an attempt was made to document the prevailing ITK’s among the 10 dairy cattle owners each from four districts viz., Tirunelveli, Namakkal, Vellore and Thiruppur districts and also comparing the present ITKs with the Modern Veterinary drugs for Anestrum.

The study compiled and documented various indigenous techniques of controlling water pH, white feaces problem in shrimp, mortality, fish-lice and use of natural fish attractant along with the socio-economic background of the involved farmers and fishers in selected blocks of 24 Parganas (South) district, West Bengal. The survey was conducted through stratified multiple random sampling procedure in which 66 farmers from 19 potential fish farming villages of two blocks were investigated.
