Cathelicidins, a family of host-defence peptides, are present in a diverse range of species, including fish, amphibians, birds, reptiles, and mammals. Mange is a class of skin diseases caused by parasitic mites. Sarcoptic mange is one of the common contagious skin diseases affecting all the domestic animals through host- adapted variants. All the dogs had intense itching, restlessness, frantic scrating hair-loss, red skin all over the body and scabs.
