Downstream river network

Bac Ninh is a province with a dense network of windows from 1.0 -1.2 km/km2 with large river systems flowing through Duong River, Cau River, Thai Binh River and the downstream part of Ca Lo River. With a dense river system and abundant surface water saving, the province’s irrigation plays a particularly important role in water harvesting, drainage and flood prevention in the province. Over the years, the province has focused resources to invest in the development of irrigation infrastructure.

This article presents a study on the flood regulation capacity of the upstream reservoirs of the Red River. One and two-dimensional numerical analyses have been carried out to simulate the hydraulic flow of the upstream reservoir and the downstream river network.

Ma River is the biggest in the Central of Viet Nam with the length of 512 km and stretching over two latitudes and longitudes, therefore, the basin’s meteorological and hydrological regime is very complicated. The current situation of hydro-meteorological network in the basin is unevenly distributed with a high density in the downstream, sparse or not in the upstream particularly a part of basin belongs Lao PDR’s territory that are challenges for flood forecasting and hydrological research.

Mekong River, the 11th largest river in the world, is the main water source for irrigation, fishery, and domestic use… In short, the living of the whole population in the Mekong Delta (MD) is depending and will be depended on this resource. The MD of Vietnam is located at the most downstream part of the Mekong river basin.
