Dressing change

This research is a visual inquiry into the fashions in 20th century kimono in which I have tried to take into account meaning and interpretation rather than a simple chronology of change. There is minimal information in English about kimono fashions during the 20th century, which has led to the assumption that kimono is now a traditional form of dress and not subject to style change.

Continuous peripheral nerve catheters (CPNCs) have been used for postoperative pain relief. A common problem encountered with CPNCs is pericatheter leakage, which can lead to dressing adhesive failure. Frequent dressing changes increase the risk of catheter dislodgement and infections.

. One approach in wound dressing development is to incorporate active molecules or drugs in the dressing. In order to reduce the frequency of dressing changes as well as to prolong wound healing efficacy, wound dressings that can sustain the release of the active molecules should be developed. In our previous work, we developed chitosan/sericin (CH/SS) microspheres that released sericin in a controlled rate. However, the difficulty of applying the microspheres that easily diffuse and quickly degrade onto the wound was its limitations.

Using US banking industry, this study investigates the impact of CEO characteristics on real activities manipulation achieved by changing the normal operational decisions purposely. Overall, our empirical results present a negative relationship between real earnings management (REM) and some CEO characteristics, including CEO tenure, the directorship on the audit committee and the level of diligence as well.

The influence of Greek sculptural ideals and Greek clothing are relatively well known, as is the connection between the aesthetic and Pre-Raphaelite artists and dress reform (Newton; Cunningham). The exhibition The Cult of Beauty. The Aesthetic Movement 1869–1900 at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2011 made these connections through a display of clothing, dress manuals and other items.

The most touching picture I have ever seen was taken around 1887. A young mother is holding a beautiful six-or seven-year-old girl in her arms. Both are dressed in their funeral finery. The little girl is dead, her long blonde ringlet curls falling over her mother's arm. The mother is looking directly into the camera and you cannot bear to look at her heartbroken eyes and you cannot bear to look away. This picture, more than anything I have seen, says grief is not an intellectual exercise. Grief breaks our hearts and hits us like ocean waves.
