Currently there is a significance interest and emphasis on the shift to the conservation and no-tillage methods for the purpose of controlling erosion process (Adugna, 2019). Tillage is an effective farm activity to improve soil tilth and soil physical conditions (Khan et al., 2010).

This study was conducted to evaluate the production performance of TANUVAS Aseel in Western Zones of Tamil Nadu. 150 Day old TANUVAS Aseel chicks were obtained from TANUVAS-CPPM, Hosur and distributed to farmers in different blocks of Erode district. Body weight and Egg production parameters were recorded in farmer’s field at weekly interval upto 72 weeks of time.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif, 2019 on sandy loam soils of dryland farm of S.V. Agricultural College, Tirupati campus of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University. The results of the experiment revealed that among the different intercropping systems, little millet + greengram (4:2) (T6) recorded significantly higher plant height, leaf area index, dry matter production followed by little millet + cowpea (4:2) (T7). Lower values of these growth parameters were recorded with little millet + cluster bean (4:2) (T8).

A field experiment was conducted to find out the effect of different intercrops on growth and yield attributes of American cotton under dryland condition during kharif season of 2014-15 at the farm of AICRP for Dryland Agriculture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola (Maharashtra). The experiment was laid out in randomized block design, replicated thrice with eleven treatments. Maximum plant height (71.23 cm), leaf area (1462 cm2 ) and leaf area index (0.81) were recorded in cotton + clusterbean intercropping system than other cropping system.

A study was taken up among the farmers in the Tiruppur district to assess the determinants of gender in farming in dryland farming system. Totally three blocks were selected Purposively for the study in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu, The block such as Palladam, Pongallur, Kundadam have been selected. A sample of 30 land holding dryland farm women and 30 farm men from each block was purposefully selected.
