The field study was conducted to investigate weed flora diversity in rice crop during kharif season of 2020-21 in four development blocks viz. An investigation was carried out to know the variations in algal floristic and major nutrients of Hassan district soils. During the study periodic trips were made for soil samples. The soil samples were collected from all the eight taluks of Hassan district viz., Alur, Arkalgud, Arsikere, Belur, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Holenarasipura and Sakaleshpura. Collected soil samples were subjected for estimation of algal floristic composition and physic-chemical properties.

The subalpine and alpine flora of Alt›ndere Valley (Maçka, Trabzon) was investigated during 2000-2002. The study area is situated in the Colchis sector of the Euro-Siberian floristic area of the Holarctic region with regard to plant geography. In this area, 384 plant taxa belonging to 61 families and 190 genera were determined.

During floristic investigations in SE Turkey, the authors collected some interesting Salvia L. specimens (Figure 1) from Mor Mountain (Başkale, Van). Salvia aristata Aucher ex Benth. (Lamiaceae) is recorded for the first time from south-east Turkey.

Allium giganteum Regel (Liliaceae), Grammosciadium scabridum Boiss., and Ferulago angulata (Schlecht.) Boiss. subsp. carduchorum (Boiss. & Hausskn.) D.F.Chamb. (Apiaceae) are reported as new records for the Turkish flora. They have been identified using the collected specimens and Flora Iranica.
