For the seventh time in the ten years the working group has existed people from different parts of the world gathered to discuss issues related to the Transfer and Diffusion of Information Technology. The theme of the 10th anniversary IFIP 8.6 working group event was “The Diffusion and Adoption of Networked Information Technologies”. Once again researchers and practitioners met and discussed if and how we can understand and model diffusion and adoption of technological innovations. The conference attracted 23 submissions.

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers minimally invasive means to repeatedly interrogate tumor genomes, providing opportunities to monitor clonal dynamics induced by metastasis and therapeutic selective pressures. In metastatic cancers, ctDNA profiling allows for simultaneous analysis of both local and distant sites of recurrence. Despite the promise of ctDNA sampling, its utility in real-time genetic monitoring remains largely unexplored.

This paper investigates the impact of governance characteristics on financial performance of companies listed on Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange. By employing system generalized method of moments (SGMM) estimator and a panel dataset covering 152 firms over a period from 2011 to 2016, our results confirm that corporate governance characteristics, viz. the size of board and block-holder ownership, do affect firms’ financial performance in Vietnam.

The purpose of this paper was to empirically assess the impact of oil prices on ASEAN+3 inflation and economic growth. The framework that can be applied to linear dynamic panel data to achieve this goal is the First Difference-Generalized Moment Method (FD-GMM) estimator method. This study used panel data representing ASEAN+3 countries and annual data over the period 2011-2020. The findings of the study indicated that, over the period, increasing oil prices were associated with higher inflation, and higher economic growth in ASEAN+3.

This paper presents the development of a terrain robot for mining support and data collection. The robot has been designed through the analysis of kinematic and dynamic properties of the terrain robot. Based on the requirements of the robot’s power and the load support, the solution of mechanism, actuator for the robot have been drawn. As a contribution to terrain robotic field, we present an original prototype of Mining Assistance Terrain Robot (MATRob).

The main purpose of this study is to determine whether renewable energy consumption has a positive effect on economic growth for selected developing countries (Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, Chile, Mexico, South Africa and Turkey). Fossil energy consumption and CO2 emissions variables are also included in the model established for this purpose. GMM estimator, one of the dynamic panel data methods, was used for empirical analysis of the relationship between these variables.

This study is aimed at investigating the asymmetric effect of oil price change on inflation for Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) countries. Based on the findings from the dynamic heterogenous nonlinear panel ARDL estimation, a panel data representation of Shin et al. (2014), the long run asymmetric relationship exists between both oil price increase (op+) and decrease (op− ) and inflation for these countries. Nevertheless, the oil price increase tends to exert more effect on inflation than the oil price decrease.

The study results for dynamic response of PFGCP present the effect of geometrical ratio, elastic foundations: Winkler foundation and Paskternak foundation; loads: mechanical load and thermal load; and the material properties and distribution type of porosity. This paper investigates the effect of investments in subsidiaries, joint ventures and affiliates (affiliate investment) on firm growth. Using both static and dynamic panel data models with a sample dataset of 2,056 firm-year observations on Vietnam’s stock market from 2008-2015, the study finds that increasing affiliate investment in prior periods had a significantly positive impact on asset growth and net income growth (but not sales growth) of the firms in subsequent periods.

The study investigated the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on electricity consumption in transitional economies using panel data analysis methods (dynamic generalized methods of moments [GMM], pooled ordinary least squares, fixed effects, random effects) with annual secondary data ranging from 1995 to 2014. Majority of prior studies on the subject matter had not focused on the impact of ICT on electricity consumption but on energy consumption, which is a broader area.

In this paper the authors wanted to reveal the relationship between overall economic development measured by gross domestic product per capita (GDPPC) influences the insurance market development measured by indicators such as gross written premium per capita (GWPPC) and the share of gross written premium in GDP. Therefore, the authors have calculated correlation coefficients for EU27, and separately for old EU members (EU15) and new EU member states (EU12) for the 2000-2009 period.
