Dynamics of rhizosphere
-
The rhizosphere is part of the soil surrounding the plant roots or being influenced by the plant roots. The exudates released from roots make it a site for complex biochemical activity. Microorganisms make up one of the dynamic parts of this rhizosphere, and affect soil and plant growth by various means.

An experiment was conducted during 2015 rabi season in a green house, Faculty of Agriculture, BCKV, Mohanpur, West Bengal to evaluate the influence of organic and inorganic amendments on phosphorus dynamics in relation to growth and yield of rice (cv. Shatabdi) in an Alfisol soil. Rhizosphere soil samples collected from pots during tillering, flowering and harvesting stages of rice were analyzed for available phosphorus.

The present study describes physicochemical characterization and rhizosphere soil mycoflora in the field of onion white rot caused by Sclerotium cepivorum. Soil fungi in onion infected field need to improve knowledge of diversity of fungi associated with white rot of onion. Infected rhizosphere soil, sixteen physicochemical parameters were analysed. It founds alkaline pH but EC, N, Ca, Na, B, S and Mo contents were found least whereas OC, P, K, Zn and Cu high in infected soil as compared to standard range.

Damping off caused by Pythium aphanidermatum is one of the destructive diseases in chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) worldwide. The present study was carried in vitro conditions to assess the possible use of antagonists (biocontrol agents) in field conditions. Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum, Pseudomonas flourescens and Bacillus subtilis were evaluated for bio- assay study by production of volatile metabolites.

A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural College Farm, Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh on sandy upland soils during post-monsoon, 2018. The experiment consisted of four levels of nitrogen and four population densities laid out in randomized block design with factorial concept. Nutrient content significantly increased with increase in nitrogen levels and higher content of N, P, K, Zn and Fe were obtained with 90 kg N ha-1 which was significantly on par with 60 kg N ha-1 .

A field experiment was conducted at research and demonstration block of Research Institute on Organic Farming (RIOF), UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru during 2017-2018 to study the combined effect of different sources of organic manures, decomposers on enzymatic activity and microbial dynamics of rhizosphere soil of chilli. The experiment was laid out on Factorial Randomized Block Design with 12treatments and replicated thrice. Irrespective of decomposers treatments, application of vermicompost on N equivalent basis had recorded significantly higher chilli yield (20.47 and 23.

Phylogenetic implication in bacterial genomics is important to understanding difficulties such as population history, antimicrobial resistance and transmission dynamics. It has been claimed that partial genome sequences would clarify phylogenetic relationships between isolated organisms, but up to now, no sustaining approach has been proposed to use competently these data. concatenation of sequences of different genes as well as building of consensus trees only consider the few genes that are shared among all organisms.

The rhizosphere is the region close to a plant’s roots, where various interactions occur. Recent evidence indicates that plants influence rhizosphere microbial communities by secreting various metabolites and, in turn, the microbes influence the growth and health of the plants. Despite the importance of plantderived metabolites in the rhizosphere, relatively little is known about their spatiotemporal distribution and dynamics.

Lowland rice cultivation under hydromorphic conditions is a very dynamic system due to continuous rhizospheric interactions and these interactions are largely influenced by anthropic interventions. Understanding of continuous biogeochemical changes and the effects of environmentally friendly residue management practices on this system is crucial for the sustainability of rice culture.
