This study was carried out to determine the effects of protected cultivation on the earliness, yield, and fruit quality characteristics of some low chill peach-nectarine cultivars grown in the eastern Mediterranean region of Turkey. Phenological observations, yield parameters, and fruit quality characteristics were investigated. The chilling durations as CH (chilling hours), CU (chilling unit), and heat accumulations were determined. The ‘Astoria’ cultivar reached the highest cumulative yield of 29.11 kg/tree and 38.72 t/ha, and fruit size was 131.89 g and 61.74 mm in protected cultivation.

Coffee production relies on plantations with varieties from Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora species. The first, the most representative in terms of coffee consumption, is mostly propagated by seeds, which leads to management problems regarding the plantations maintenance, harvest and processing of grains.

Bolting refers to the early flowering stem production on agricultural and horticultural crops before harvesting. Indeed, bolting is an event induced by the coordinated effects of various environmental factors and endogenous genetic components, which cause a large reduction in the quality and productivity of vegetable crops like spinach.

Storage of flowers is essential for economic marketing. A laboratory trial was conducted to study the shelf life of marigold under West Bengal condition. Flowers of Bidhan 1, Bidhan 2 and Bidhan 3 were stored with four packaging materials like gunny bags, nylon mesh bags, bamboo baskets and plastic baskets, during early winter, mid winter and late winter season. The study revealed that shelf life of loose marigold flowers stored during mid winter season (18-20 º C and 60 to 75% RH) in plastic baskets could be extended for 12 days in Bidhan 3, with acceptable marketable quality.

The present study emphasized on determination of the nature and magnitude of variability, heritability and genetic advance on yield and yield attributing characters in 19 potato genotypes harvested on different date. The estimation of correlation co-efficient among the characters along with their direct and indirect effect on yield is necessary to carry out proper selection on the basis of the traits. Wide ranges of variation have been observed for all the traits both in early and late harvesting situation.

An experiment was carried out at the Horticulture Research Farm, Department of Applied Plant Science (Horticulture) Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Lucknow to Effect of biofertilizer and kitchen waste manure on vegetative growth of chilli cv. Pusa Jwala. The results revealed that the that application of treatment T10 [RDF 50% + kitchen waste manure (25 and 50 days after transplanting)] was found to be the best treatment in respect of betterment of vegetative growth except treatment T7(RDF 50% + kitchen waste manure) showed the early flowering to harvesting (23.

In the recent time, pumpkin has got industrial importance with the development of pulp powder as a nutraceutical supplement to Vitamin A requirement. Pumpkin is cheaper source of Vitamin A when compared to carrot which necessitates specific climatic requirement for its production and high productivity per unit area. An experiment was conducted at the Department of Vegetable Crops, Horticulture College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to find out suitable pumpkin genotype for earliness, high yield and quality.

The experiment was conducted in post-monsoon season (2017-2018) at Department of Agronomy, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. The experiment was laid out in Split plot design with three replications comprising three sowing dates i.e. 38th MW, 39th MW and 40th MW as main-plot treatments and four varieties consists of JS9560, MAUS-612, MAUS-162, MAUS-71 as sub-plot treatments. Data were collected on seed yield, biological yield as yield components of soybean and analyzed statistically. From these it observed that the growth parameters Viz.

Early blight is potentially destructive disease in tomato occurring on the oldest leaves as small, brownish which are due to foliar blight disease and it was caused by a foliar fungal pathogen Alternaria solani. The disease causes considerable yield as well as post-harvest losses. A. solani produced blackish, fluffy mycelium with septate, beaked conidia on PDA Eight plant extracts and four biocontrol agents were evaluated following poison food technique and dual culture.

An experiment was conducted with 15 early maturing sugarcane clones to study the genetic variability for yield and associated characters. The analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among the clones for all twenty three characters. The Variability studies showed moderate estimates of GCV and PCV for traits viz., germination percent, cane diameter at harvest, pol percent in juice at 8 month stage, CCS percent at 8 month, sugar yield and cane yield at harvest.

An experiment was conducted with fifteen early maturing sugarcane clones to assess the genetic parameters for various productive traits. The analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among the clones for twenty one traits and significant for rest traits viz., purity at 8 month & pol in cane at harvest. The Variability studies showed moderate estimates of GCV and PCV for traits viz., single cane weight and cane yield at harvest. In present set of materials high heritability with high genetic advance as per cent of mean was found in cane yield at harvest.

Research results indicated significant variation in all the vegetative growth attributes and yield parameters in different drip irrigation and mulches. The maximum number of branches per vine, length of vine, number of leaves per vine and leaf area were recorded with 1.0 ETc as compared to other drip irrigation treatments at 60, 90 DAT and harvest. However, in respect to earliness i.e. days to first flowering, fruiting and harvesting were also observed with the treatment 1.0 ETc.

One of the major problems faced by the flower growers is lack of suitable packaging technology for local and distant markets. Therefore adequate packaging is required for enhancing their shelf life by retaining their attractiveness. Major objectives of this work was to study the effects of packaging materials and storage duration on flower quality, postharvest life & consumers‟ acceptability of tuberose strings. In order to study the interaction effect of packaging materials i.e.
