Wolfram syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive neurodegenerative disorder that affects 1/200,000 to 1/1,000,000 children. It is characterized by juvenile onset diabetes, optic nerve atrophy and other systemic manifestations. Symptoms of the disease arise mostly in early childhood with a high mortality rate due to severe neurological complications.

Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is considered an oncologic emergency which requires early diagnosis and treatment to prevent mortality and morbidity. It refers to the constellation of metabolic disturbances manifested by acute renal failure associated with hyperuricemia, hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia.

Severe falciparum malaria is associated with multiple organ dysfunctions. The most manifestations of severe falciparum malaria are cerebral malaria, acute lung injury, and acute kidney injury. Acute colonic pseudo-obstruction is extremely rare. Early recognition and management are essential because a delay in diagnosis is associated with substantial morbidity and mortality.

Skin diseases are among common injuries in diabetes. Skin changes play a role as an early manifestation as well as a reflection of glucose metabolic control and chronic complication management of diabetes. Objective: To evaluate clinical and laboratory features of diabetic patients with skin manifestations and the relation between common skin diseases and chronic diabetic-related characteristics.

Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS) is a rare disorder of neuromuscular junction transmission in which the primary clinical manifestations are proximal muscle weakness and possible autonomic symptoms. We present a clinical case of LEMS with lung tumor diagnosed by clinical and electromyography.

Bone marrow edema of the sacroiliac joint is the early imaging manifestation, an indicator of infamma‑ tory activity of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) (Yang R, et. al. Medicine (Baltimore) 98:e14620, 2019). The aim of the study was to investigate the value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Dixon sequence in the diagnosis of marrow edema of the sacroiliac joint in patients with AS.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a degenerative disease with early-stage pathology hypothesized to manifest in brainstem regions. Vocal deficits, including soft, monotone speech, result in significant clinical and quality of life issues and are present in 90% of PD patients; yet the underlying pathology mediating these significant voice deficits is unknown.

Main risk factor for the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is smoking, although only less than 1/3 of smokers develop clinically manifest COPD. COPD’s progressive nature with high disability and mortality makes it plausible to detect it as early as possible thus allowing for an early intervention.

Heterosis manifestation in tomato is in the form of the greater vigour, faster growth and development, earliness in maturity, increased productivity (Yordanov, 1983). So, by exploiting the heterosis for various yield contributing traits and earliness a speedy improvement in tomato can be done.

Hajdu-Cheney syndrome (HCS) is a rare inherited skeletal disorder caused by pathogenic mutations in exon 34 of NOTCH2. Its highly variable phenotypes make early diagnosis challenging. In this paper, we report a case of early-onset HCS with severe phenotypic manifestations but delayed diagnosis.

From early 90s we have been observing that Aphelenchoides besseyi also, to affect tuberose badly in West Bengal as well as in other tuberose growing adjacent states. Interestingly, in most of the cases where tuberose is grown side by side or in sequence with rice, manifestation of symptoms is seen only in tuberose but not in rice. This made us curious to search the reasons behind, comparative preference of nematodes towards tuberose. We decided to go for biochemical analysis of both the plants. The experiment was carried out in the field from 2016 - 2017 at Central research farm of B.C.KV..

Spinal deformities constitute one of the most common types of manifestations of neurofibromatosis type-1 (NF-1), which can lead to either dystrophic or non-dystrophic early-onset scoliosis (EOS). Surgical treatment for EOS with NF-1 is challenging, and the outcomes have rarely been reported.
