In this experiment Dalbergia sissoo seeds were sown in both the conditions of soils i.e. inoculated and un-inoculated with Glomus mosseae in different water treatments i.e., normal, drought and re-watering conditions to evaluate the performance of growth characters (collar diameter, shoot and root length, fresh and dry weight, no. of leaves and leaf area index) of seedlings.

The agricultural drought has become a major concern worldwide because of its severe effect on the productivity of rain-fed crops and direct effect on service as well as per capita income. These agricultural droughts occur due to short-term moisture stresses. This work was carried out to analyze droughts in the Banswara region of Rajasthan using Effective Drought Index (EDI). Out of the 11 rain gauge station selected in the study, it was found that according to EDI, a meteorological drought of maximum severity -34.

Drought is a complex natural phenomenon and its impact on agriculture is enormous. The vegetation status was verified using MODIS satellite images through the Normalized Differential Vegetation Index (NDVI) for different agro-climatic zones (ACZ) over Tamil Nadu during the north-east monsoon season of 2015 (as extremely wet year), 2016 (as drought year) and 2017 (as normal year) for our analysis and it showed that satellite data was very effective for assessing the agricultural drought.

The present investigation was carried out in 49 groundnut genotypes to assess the nature and extent of genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance under normal (0 % polyethylene glycol-6000 as control) and osmotic stress condition (15 % polyethylene glycol-6000) in germination phases in three replications in a completely randomized design. The observations on germination per cent, root length, shoot length, fresh weight of seedlings and total dry matter were recorded on tenth day after incubation.

Lentil (Lens culinaris Medikus) is an important winter season grain legume crop, mostly grown on residual soil moisture and is frequently subjected to terminal drought and heat stress, that results in low and variable seed yields. A pot culture experiment was conducted to study the effect of water stress on potassium and some micronutrient accumulation in straw and grains of wheat genotypes.
