  • The 2D symmetric model of EPR with the electromagnetic force calculated was imported into Simplorer software to simulate the dynamic response of the EPR based on the influence of plug shape. The shape of plug in the EPR was changed through the dimension parameters denoted by dimension (h) and slope angle (α). The simulation results show that the electromagnetic force and dynamic response of the EPR can be optimized when h and α are selected at 3mm and 480, respectively.

  • The objective of this analysis is to evaluate the necessity of large clinical trials using FLOW trial data. Methods: The FLOW pilot study and definitive trial were factorial trials evaluating the effect of different irrigation solutions and pressures on re-operation. To explore treatment effects over time, we analyzed data from the pilot and definitive trial in increments of 250 patients until the final sample size of 2447 patients was reached.

  • Testing of agricultural sprinklers is necessary to find the optimum field operating conditions with minimum cost while satisfying design water distribution criteria. In the present study two twin-nozzle agricultural sprinklers were tested in field under ten different operating pressures ranging from 1.6 kg/cm² to 3.5 kg/cm². In each experiment sprinkler discharge rate, nozzle pressure, radius of throw, and water distribution pattern around the sprinkler were observed. The average discharge coefficients of the two sprinkler nozzles were determined.

  • Spraying is one of the most effective and efficient techniques for applying spray liquid to protect crops. The nozzle is a major component in determining the amount of spray applied to an area, the uniformity of application, the coverage obtained on the target surface and the amount of potential drift. Hollow cone, solid cone and 3D action nozzles were selected for the study, which were widely used by the local farmers for cotton crop. The selected nozzles were evaluated in spray patternator for different operating parameters.

  • The purpose of this work is to provide a complete study of the influence of operational parameters of the supercritical carbon dioxide assisted extraction (SC CO2E) on yield of wedelolactone from Wedelia calendulacea Less., and to find an optimal combination of factors that maximize the wedelolactone yield. In order to determine the optimal combination of the four factors viz. operating pressure, temperature, modifier concentration and extraction time, a Taguchi experimental design approach was used: four variables (three levels) in L9 orthogonal array.

  • Adenosine is implicated in the modulation of cardiovascular responses either at the peripheral or at central level in experimental animals. However, there are no dedicated reviews on the involvement of adenosine in mediating the hypotensive response of centrally administered clonidine in general and specifically in aortically barodenervated rats (ABD). The conscious ABD rat model exhibits surgically induced baroreflex dysfunction and exaggerated hypotensive response, compared with conscious sham-operated (SO) rats.
