The parameters influencing the digging of onion were identified and determined. We have measured the maximum depth of onion in the soil, onion stem height and width of onion coverage in the soil for Allium cepa variety.

The field experiments were conducted at farmer fields in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh to study the comparative performance of different harvesting methods for wheat crop consisting of three treatments viz., self-propelled reaper binder with crop bundle collection in the field manually (T1), self-propelled vertical conveyer reaper with crop bundles making and their collection in the field manually (T2), and manual harvesting using sickle with crop bundle making and collection in the field (T3).

The objective of this study was to evaluate the field performance of self propelled reaper-binder at farmer’s field. The effective field capacity of the reaper binder was found as 0.17 ha h-1 with a field efficiency of 78.49 per cent at an average operating speed of 2.55 km h-1 . The fuel consumption was observed as 1.12 l ha-1 . The harvesting cost and losses were Rs. 3235.11 ha-1 and 25.42 kg ha-1 respectively. The feedback of machine operation was collected by some farmer’s at the time of harvesting and the performance of the reaper binder at the farm was satisfactory.

A power operated pulse reaper was developed at OUAT, Bhubaneswar and evaluated in farmer’s field for harvesting green gram. The performance of the developed reaper was studied for 3 different varieties of green gram namely OUM-11-5, PDM-54 and Local at three machine speed (1.8, 2.3 and 2.8 km/h). The highest effective field capacity of 0.248 ha/h was observed at 2.8 km/h speed while the lowest of 0.161 ha/h at 1.8 km/h for the local variety. The highest field efficiency was found to be 81.38% for OUM-11-5 variety at 2.8 km/h speed while lowest field efficiency was 78.

Rice is one of the main crops in Raichur district of Karnataka. During harvesting season, shortage of labour demands suitable machinery in this region. Field evaluation trials of self-propelled type small combine harvester for harvesting of rice crop were carried out and the results were compared with manual rice harvesting method. Studies on conventional method of rice harvesting revealed that, the average field capacity of conventional method was 0.009 hectare per hour and the average total grain loss was found to be 11.16 per cent.

This article focuses on researching the possibility of applying Nano TiO2 photocatalyst in an advanced UV-H2O2 oxidation process to decompose 2- Diazo-4,6-dinitrophenol (DDNP) in wastewater of propellant and explosives production facilities. Effects of reaction time (0-120 minutes), pH, UV light, molar ratio of H2O2/TiO2, reaction temperature and initial DDNP concentration on DDNP treatment efficiency were evaluated.
