In our study, the mixture of cellulase and pectinase were used to exploit plant matrix. The combination of these enzymes increased the extraction efficiency compared to single enzyme treatment. The fresh tea leaves, byproduct of the green tea processing, were utilized as materials for extracting. And the enzyme-assisted extraction was investigated. Firstly, the materials were treated with the mixture of cellulase and pectinase.

These reactions involved a condensation reaction of aromatic benzaldehydes, 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedione, and dicyanomethane in a solvent mixture of ethanol and water, resulting in the desired products in moderate to good yields. The procedure is efficient and eco-friendly, and the products can be easily obtained by recrystallisation. Thus, this protocol offers an alternative to existing methods.

In this paper, we discuss the efficiency of using a Fe2V4O13 catalyst in a heterogeneous Fenton-like process for the degradation and mineralization of Ind. We examined various factors that influence the reaction, such as the initial pH of the reaction mixture, the initial concentration of hydrogen peroxide, the amount of the Fe2V4O13 catalyst, and the reaction temperature was investigated.

Research on oligosaccharides, including the complicated product mixtures generated by lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs), is growing at a rapid pace. LPMOs are gaining major interest, and the ability to efficiently and accurately separate and quantify their native and oxidized products chromatographically is essential in furthering our understanding of these oxidative enzymes.

There is a great need for efficient analysis of the composition of vegetable oils and fats, since it affects the physical and technical properties. However, due to the complex nature of these kind of samples, it is often difficult and costly. In the present study, we developed a Non-Aqueous Reversed-Phase HPLC method that can be used to separate and quantify different free fatty acids, fatty acid esters, monoacylglycerides.

Enhancing the engine thermal efficiency is an effective way to improve the vehicle fuel economy and vehicle emissions that have drawn extensive efforts toward achieving a sustainable society. However, the lower thermal efficiency of the stoichiometric concept is one of the challenges to meet the fuel economy and emissions regulations of spark ignition (SI) engines.

Pooled CRISPR screens allow researchers to interrogate genetic causes of complex phenotypes at the genome-wide scale and promise higher specificity and sensitivity compared to competing technologies. Unfortunately, two problems exist, particularly for CRISPRi/a screens: variability in guide efficiency and large rare off-target effects.

The Heck coupling of haloarenes with various alkenes was successfully performed in the presence of 0.25 mol% PdCl2 and 0.5 mol% biphenyl-4-yl-[4(5)-(biphenyl-4-yl)-1H -imidazol-2-yl]ketone 2f as a ligand with Na2CO3 as optimal base, in a 1:1 mixture of H2O/DMF as the reaction solvent at 80◦C for 8 h. Imidazole 2f was found to be an inexpensive, air-stable, easily available, and efficient ligand in the palladium-catalyzed Heck reactions of aryl iodides (76%–94%), bromides (52%–79%), and chlorides (40%–70%).

2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic acid (H2 dipic) reacts with copper-exchanged zeolite NaY to form [Cu(dipic)(H2 O) 2 ] n , which is encapsulated in the pores of the zeolite. In this zeolite-encapsulated form, the copper derivative functions as an efficient catalyst for the oxidation of cyclohexene, toluene, cyclohexane, and ethyl benzene in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (as an oxidant). The catalyst was readily recovered from the reaction mixture, and it could be reused for an additional three runs without perceptible loss of activity.

This combination of paclitaxel and curcumin gave a higher efficiency of both drugs in cytotoxicity, induced apoptosis, and effect on cell cycles of KPL4 cell line in comparison with the use of paclitaxel or curcumin alone or even a normal mixture of these two compounds. Furthermore, PTX-Cur/PLA-TPGS nanoparticles exhibited a powerful ability in preventing MCF7 spheroids growth. Interestingly, curcumin also functioned as both a drug and a label. Based on the autofluorescence of curcumin, the absorption of PTX-Cur/PLA-TPGS nanoparticles into MCF7 spheroids could be followed and calculated.

An efficient and inexpensive monolithic stationary phase (PHEMA-HA) has been prepared through an easy process comprising addition of humic acid (HA) to a mixture of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and N,N’- methylenebisacrylamide (MBAAm) and subsequent radical-polymerization at –20 ◦ C. The prepared monolithic material was characterized in terms of various techniques and methods such as elemental analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, mercury porosimetry, hydrolytic stability tests, pHpzc measurements, water-holding capacity, and water permeability.

In this work, ratio spectra of the first derivative spectrophotometric and liquid chromatographic methods have been described for the first time for the simultaneous determination of perindopril (PER), indapamide (IND), and amlodipine (AML) in dosage forms. For chromatographic separations several mobile phase compositions were tested for efficient separation with the use of a new column technology related to superficially porous particles. Optimum chromatographic separation was achieved using a Kinetex C18 column (150 × 4.6 mm I.D. 5 µm) at a flow rate of 1.5 mL min−1 .

A gas mixture representing oxy-fuel combustion conditions was employed in a thermogravimetric analyser to determine the effect of water vapor and SO2 concentration on limestone sulfation kinetics over the temperature range of 800 to 920°C. Here, experiments used small samples of particles (4 mg), with small particle sizes (dp < 38 µm) and large gas flow rates (120 mL/min@ NTP) in order to minimize mass transfer interferences. The gas mixture contained 5000 ppmv SO2, 2% O2, and the H2O content was changed from 0% to 25% with the balance CO2.

Generating power from renewable biogas in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) is an environment-friendly, efficient, and promising energy conversion process. Biogas can be used in SOFCs via a reforming process for which dry reforming is more suitable as the reforming agent exists in the biogas mixture. Biogas can be directly reformed to H2 -rich fuel stream in the anode chamber of a SOFC by the heat released during power generation.
