In the electricity market operation, wholesale electricity prices or Locational Marginal Prices (LMP) vary according to electric demand (including consumption power consumed, bidding prices and the level of price-sensitivity) as well as the penetration level of the wind power. The variable domain identification of LMP plays a very important role for market participants to assess and mitigate the risk on account of the uncertainty of wind power output forecasting.

DSM is a set of tools and practices taken by utilities to influence the amount and/or timing of customers’ energy demand in order to use electricity most efficiently. DSM decreases the cost of meeting customers’ energy needs through increased investment in enduse energy efficiency and load management. Demand-side resources can reduce or postpone investment in generation, transmission, and distribution capacity, and decrease fuel consumption, and improve environmental quality.

This study examines the long term impact of demand-side management variables including HER (Home energy report), MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standards) and NEEAP (National Energy Efficiency Action Plan). The future installation capacity of Malaysia’s power generation is evaluated considering the factors of population, per capita electricity consumption, efficiency, capacity margin and DSM. The forecasting horizon of the simulation model is 15 years from 2016 to 2030.

Vietnam is one of the most economic developing country in the world, and its electricity demand has been increased dramatically high of about 15%/y for last three decades. In this study, using STAN software, the authors have analyzed the material flows, and, using SANKEY software, the authors have analyzed the energy balance of the main production lines and the wastewater management system of a selected textile company in Vietnam.

Using the feed-forward back propagation (FFBP) method, a modified model of neural network, this paper will introduce a new long-term prediction approach for the maximum load power of Vietnam. Results from simulation indicate a considerable correlation of three parameters regarding electric power consumption demand, GDP growth rate, and maximum load power demand; the mean error of suggested model is about 1.92%. This is a reasonable range of mean error for a long-term prediction where the correlation of variables is not explicit.
