Electricity pricing methodology

This study investigates stakeholders’ perception of the sustainability of Nigeria’s MYTO pricing methodology vis-à-vis government’s electricity efficiency objectives. Using a five-point Likert questionnaire, data was collected and analysed via descriptive and regression analyses. The results indicate that 96% of the variations in electricity pricing is accounted for by government’s electricity efficiency objectives of acceptability, accessibility and availability. The study concludes that Nigeria’s MYTO pricing regime is sustainable.

The rapid economic growth in Vietnam has resulted in an increasing demand for electricity. This in turn translates to a higher rate of coal resource extraction and consequent rise in pollution of water and land resources. This study estimated the environmental costs associated with the electricity demand requirements of the coal electricity sector, as a component of the long-run marginal opportunity cost (LR-MOC) of electricity production.

Overall, Cambodia’s rubber export competitiveness remains weaker than that of other countries in the region, except for the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. One of the problems is that despite the application of conventional technology for the management and maintenance of rubber trees and traditional rubber clones, per- hectare rubber yield remains lower than in other countries of the region.
