A simple and environment-friendly electrochemical method using activated glassy carbon electrodes (aGCE) for monitoring the residues of tetracycline in pork samples was developed. A two-step pretreatment procedure was established for activating the glassy carbon electrode surface, including mechanical polishing and electrochemical pretreatment. In the supporting electrolyte solution of 0.2 M sodium sulfate (at pH 2.5), the electrochemical response of TC was characterized by two irreversible oxidation peaks at +0.95 V and +1.05 V vs. saturated calomel electrode. A mass-type sensor was prepared by coating γFe2O3 NPs on the active electrode of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). The obtained results of the γ-Fe2O3 NPs based QCM sensor indicate the high response and good repeatability toward SO2 gas in the range of 2.5 – 20 ppm at room temperature.

The aim of the work "Activated carbon derived from rice husk by NaOH activation and its application in supercapacitor" is to prepare a low-cost, high specific surface area activated carbon with microporous and mesoporous ranges using rice husk as the raw material. The effects of activation temperature on the specific surface area, pore structure, morphology and thermal stability of the AC samples have been examined. The AC samples were proved to be excellent electrode material for supercapacitor, hence solve the disposal and pollution problems of rice husk.

The electrochemical oxidation of 2,6-diaminopurine (2,6-DAP) was studied in pH 7.4 phosphate buffer solution on multiwall carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode (MWCNT/GCE) over a temperature range of 20 to 50 ◦ C using cyclic voltammetry. 2,6-DAP oxidation on MWCNT/GCE showed a well-defined and irreversible oxidation peak at about 0.72 V vs. Ag/AgCl at pH 7.4. The oxidation potential of 2,6-DAP linearly varied with pH over the range of 3.0 to 10.0 with a slope of –0.0547 V/pH, implying that 2 protons were accompanied by 2 electrons transferred in the electrochemical reaction.

Two meso-dichlorophenyl substituted metallocorroles were synthesized and characterized as to their electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties in dichloromethane, benzonitrile, and pyridine containing 0.1 M tetra-n-butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) as supporting electrolyte. The examined compounds are represented as (Cl2Ph)3 CorFeIVCl and (Cl2Ph)3 CorMnIVCl where (Cl2Ph)3 Cor is the trianion of 5,10,15-tri(2,4-dichlorophenyl)corrole.

The results showed that 95.7% of the response current was retained after 17 activity assays. The ethanol biosensor gave perfect reproducible finding with 4.6% relative standard deviation. The prepared biosensor retained 55.8% of initial activity after 24 days when stored in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution at 4 ◦ C. Effects of the several possible interfering substances such as ascorbic acid, citric acid, and methanol on the ethanol biosensor were investigated and the developed biosensor was tested in alcoholic beverages.

This paper presents the results of an investigation of the properties of a modified platinum electrode with meso-tetraphenylporphyrin iron(III) complex immobilized in Nafion film and its catalytic activity in the electrochemical oxidation of selected hydroquinone and catechol derivatives. The redox activity of iron complexes of porphyrins was characterized in aqueous solutions of perchloric acid by means of cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry.

A three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide/nickel-cobalt sulfide (RGO/NiCo2S4) aerogel was fabricated by an efficient and facile one-step hydrothermal approach. The NiCo2S4 needle-like structure consisted of many small nanoparticles well attached to the surface of the RGO sheet. The prepared aerogel had high porosity and conductivity.

The solution of paracetamol and sildenafil (Penagra) was effectively sensed using modified carbon paste electrodes. LNPs showed a good photocatalytic activity (PCA) for Orange Red (OR) dye under UV light irradiation. These results indicate that the synthesized LNPs are a good candidate for displays, waste water treatment and for the use as electrochemical sensors.

A facile route was used for the fabrication of NdFeO3 (NF) perovskite. The orthorhombic structure of single phase nanocrystalline NdFeO3 perovskite was confirmed by different characterization techniques: XRD, FTIR, TEM, BET, SEM, and EDAX. The nanoperovskite was successfully used as a sensor component with a carbon paste electrode (CpE) for the determination of ketotifen in pharmaceutical formulations. Ketotifen, an antiallergic drug, is utilized for the treatment of asthma attacks, rhinitis, skin allergies, and anaphylaxis.
