Sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) is an industrial waste that consists of silicon oxides, calcium, aluminum, iron, magnesium, and alkali metal oxides. The composition and structure of thermomechanical treated SCBA was analyzed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray diffraction (XRD). Thermomechanical treated SCBA was mixed with clay, quartz and feldspar at different compositions according to an appropriate mixing ratio and using this mixture for the production of dry pressed ceramic tiles.

The acid-treated PG was neutralized by NaOH and CO2 aeration, creating CaCO3 in situ nano-microparticles identified by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and CaCO3 intensity by X-ray diffraction (XRD). In this study, the cement mortar test, which used treated PG from both sulfuric treatment and NaOH neutralization within CO2 aeration, has better compressive strength properties and hydration supported by SEM images, XRD results, and thermogravimetric analysis.

Rice husk (RH), an inexpensive waste material, was used to produce nanosilica that was then applied to fabricate composite with natural rubber. The optimization of process parameters on the weight of nanosilica using the Taguchi method was performed. Experimental specimens were then made to confirm optimum values for each process parameter.

In the paper, zeolite ZSM-5 has been synthesized in laboratory. Its structure is then modified by irradiating with electron beam at the different energies and fluences (F). To perform the irradiation process on the electron beam (EB) linear accelerator (UERL-10-15S2), the simultaneous energy degrading and sample containing holde was calculated and designed by MCNP simulation before irradiation.

This article has reviewed the progress that has been made in bioleaching research of metals using filamentous fungi. This review has focused on fungal bioleaching from various metal sources, including mine tailings, electronic waste, solid mine wastes, spent catalysts, and low-grade ores. Filamentous fungi are used in bioleaching due to their ability to secrete organic acids and facilitate the solubilization of metal ions from the solution phase.

In India, the quantity of “E-Waste” or Electronic Waste has now become a major problem. Electronic wastes (E-Wastes) typically include discarded computer monitors, motherboards, mobile phones and charges, compact discs, headphones, television sets, A.C. and refrigerators. Only 20 percent of global E-Waste is recycled. In India most of the waste electronic items are stored at households as people do not know how to discard them. This ever-increasing waste is very complex in nature and is also a rich source of metals.

In this research, rice husk, abandoned and available agriculture waste, were developed into activated carbon using microwave methods. The optimal experimental parameters such as pH, contact time, activated carbon dose, and temperature were investigated. The activated carbon was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. The maximum adsorption capacities toward methylene blue was 6.13 mg g-1 . The experimental data fitted the Freundlich equation well, although the Langmuir equation could also describe them.

This study aimed to evaluate the ability of magnesium chloride modified carbonized rice hull (MCRH) material for ammonium removal from synthetic and domestic wastewater. The MCRH material was prepared by using waste rice hull from a household rice-processing factory and magnesium chloride salt via a simple mixing and annealing method. The material was then characterized by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

Waste recycle have been strongly focusing in Vietnam. However secondary environmental effects of the recycling activities have been debatable. This study produces a life cycle inventory (LCI) data set of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packages in the country with further analysis for biggest PET users such as electronic sectors and/or food processing sectors. Loop recycling allocations are approached to calculate GHGs emission and solid waste in the life cycle of 1 ton of PET packages.

In this study, high temperature oxidation-resistant NiCr/Al duplex coatings on carbon steel substrate have been fabricated by electrical wire arc-spraying process. The oxidation resistance properties of NiCr/Al duplex coating system have been evaluated at 800 °C during retention times of 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0 hours. The morphology and chemical composition of their cross-sectional structures were investigated using scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS).

Collagen from fish is attracting a lot of attention thanks to its high absorbance ability, biocompatibility as well as non-religious obstruction and cheap sources. It could be applied in many fields, for example: food, cosmetic, or biomedicine. Using of collagen also helps reduce the environment pollution from fish scale waste in fish processing. In this study, collagen extracted from Vietnamese fresh-water tilapia fish scales was used in combination with carrageenan for the improvement of drug release control.

Application of waste bulk moulded composite (BMC) as a filler for isotactic polypropylene composites
The aim of this study was to produce isotactic polypropylene based composites filled with waste thermosetting bulk moulded composite (BMC). The influence of BMC waste addition (5, 10, 20 wt%) on composites structure and properties was investigated. Moreover, additional studies of chemical treatment of the filler were prepared. Modification of BMC waste by calcium stearate (CaSt) powder allows to assess the possibility of the production of composites with better dispersion of the filler and more uniform properties.
