In this study, for the first time, CNC synthesized from rice was used to stabilize LEO Pickering emulsion (PE-LEO) with good emulsification properties without the use of any emulsifier. The stability, antibacterial and antifungal properties of PE-LEO were determined to show how well PE-LEO works.

In addition, fuel physicochemical characteristics and handling issues for these fuels are discussed. Glycerol is an attractive fuel blending material as it is a waste product of biodiesel production with desirable combustion and fuel properties when emulsified into diesel and biodiesel fuels.

Water based polymer systems are often used for improvement in the properties of plain cement mortar or concrete. Presently, latexes of a single or combinations of polymers like polyvinyl acetate, copolymers of vinyl acetate–ethylene, styrene–butadiene, styrene–acrylic, and acrylic and styrene butadiene rubber emulsions are generally used. One of the limitations of these polymer systems is that they may re-emulsify in humid alkaline conditions. To overcome this problem, an epoxy emulsion based polymer system has been developed.

Reinforced concrete structures are damaged by salt attack, concrete carbonation, and sulfate attack, etc. The expansion stress by the corrosion of reinforcing steel causes crack in the cover concrete. Patch repair method is commonly applied to deteriorated RC structures. Deterioration mechanism of a patch-repair method in reinforced concrete is investigated through the experiment and analysis. The repair material selected is polymer-modified cement mortar re-emulsified by polymer resin.

We propose a two-step inversion of three-component seismograms that ( 1) recovers the far-field source time function at each station and (2) estimates the distribution of co-seismic slip on the fault plane for small earthquakes (magnitude 3 to 4). Empirical evidence suggests that movements in international relative prices (such as the real exchange rate) are large and persistent. Nontraded goods, both in the form of ¯nal consumption goods and as an input into the production of ¯- nal tradable goods, are an important aspect behind international relative price movements. In this paper we show that nontraded goods have important impli- cations for exchange rate behavior, even though °uctuations in the relative price of nontraded goods account for a relatively small fraction of real exchange rate movements.
