Symptoms of anxiety and depression are common in childhood, as are risk factors that undermine wellbeing: low self-esteem and limited participation in daily occupations. Current treatments focus primarily on modifying internal cognitions with insufficient effect on functional outcomes. Occupational therapists have a role in measuring and enabling children’s functional abilities to promote health and wellbeing.

Occupation cluster analysis is a relatively new approach in regional development. In contrast to industry clusters that focus on what businesses produce, occupation clusters focus on the knowledge, skills and abilities of the individuals who work for those businesses. Like the industrial cluster tool, this tool enables users to explore their regional economy from a different perspective. Like the other tools, its main advantage is flexibility: users can define custom regions and make comparisons easily.

Economic impact questions within the study represent a carry‐over from established study methods from organizational efforts prior to the execution of this study. LABB began collecting, examining and reporting economic impacts resultant of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Disaster immediately after the spill. Survey participants were questioned regarding experienced economic impacts in a manner that is more individualistic than established methods of economic study.

Psychological distress increases with the intensity of cancer pain. Cancer pain is often under-reported and under-treated for a variety of complex reasons, partly due to a number of beliefs held by patients, families and healthcare professionals. There is evidence that cognitive behavioural techniques that address catastrophising and promote self-efficacy lead to improved pain management. Group format pain management programmes could contribute to the care of cancer survivors with persistent pain.

The ultimate long term goal of this project is to create a practical infrastructure that enables the network to become self-configuring so that necessary network-wide reconfiguration is initiated by the change within the system itself, and not by the coordinated actions of teams of human operators. To allow us to achieve tangible results in reasonable time, the present project focuses on some specific issues that we feel are key to success in the larger plan and for which there is a clear path to generalization.

The data collected and analyzed helps to inform dental public health policy and programming. It also provides a baseline for noting any improvements that may occur as a result of new oral health promotion and disease prevention initiatives with the goal of achieving better outcomes. One of the reasons oral health was included as a component of the CHMS was to enable future evaluation of the association of oral health with major health concerns such as diabetes, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

Building engineering physics emerged during the latter part of the 20th Century, at the interface between three disciplines: building services engineering, applied physics and building construction engineering. Building services engineering is the design of mechanical and electrical systems to maintain internal environmental conditions that enable occupants to be comfortable and achieve their maximum performance potential.
