Ebook "Cell biology of the axon" focus on endogenous cytoskeletal systems that structurally organize the axon, confer tensile strength, and mediate intracellular transport and growth cone motility. Specifically, Shea et al. address issues of how organizational dynamics of neurofilaments are regulated, including mechanisms of transport, and how dysregulation of transport can contribute to motor neuron disease.

Ebook "RNA activation" offers an essential guide to RNA activation (RNAa), an emerging and fascinating new field. RNAa is a small RNA-guided and Argonaute-dependent gene regulation phenomenon in which promoter-targeted short double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) induce target gene expression at the transcriptional level. It occurs primarily in the nucleus and can be mediated by artificially designed short duplex RNAs that target regulatory sequences (e.g., promoters, genes’ 3’ termini and enhancers) and naturally occurring small RNAs (e.g., miRNAs and C. elegans 22G-RNAs).

To investigate how the negative regulation of CD44st by miR-138-5p affects the invasive ability of breast cancer cell lines and prognosis in postoperative breast cancer patients. RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, and western blot assays were used to detect the expression of CD44s, CD44v6, and CD44st at both mRNA and protein levels. The expression of miR-138-5p in breast cancer cell lines was also evaluated.

Researchers have been exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying the control of periodontal ligament stem cell (PDLSC) osteogenic differentiation. Recently, long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) were shown to function as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) to regulate the effect of microRNAs (miRNAs) on their target genes during cell differentiation.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a novel class of endogenous, non-coding, single-stranded RNAs capable of regulating gene expression by suppressing translation or degrading mRNAs. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) can alter miRNA expression, resulting in diverse functional consequences.

The organization of chromatin in the nucleus plays an essential role in gene regulation. About half of the mammalian genome comprises transposable elements. Given their repetitive nature, reads associated with these elements are generally discarded or randomly distributed among elements of the same type in genome-wide analyses.

Genomic imprinting is an epigenetic phenomenon that allows a subset of genes to be expressed mono-allelically based on the parent of origin and is typically regulated by differential DNA methylation inherited from gametes.

All mRNAs are bound in vivo by proteins to form mRNA–protein complexes (mRNPs), but changes in the composition of mRNPs during posttranscriptional regulation remain largely unexplored. Here, we have analyzed, on a transcriptome-wide scale, how microRNA-mediated repression modulates the associations of the core mRNP components eIF4E, eIF4G, and PABP and of the decay factor DDX6 in human cells.

The spatiotemporal control of 3D genome is fundamental for gene regulation, yet it remains challenging to profile high-resolution chromatin structure at cis-regulatory elements (CREs). Using C-terminally biotinylated dCas9, endogenous biotin ligases, and pooled sgRNAs, we describe the dCas9-based CAPTURE method for multiplexed analysis of locus-specific chromatin interactions.

The government interfere into macroeconomic not only maintain a watching brief across a broad range of technologies and trends but also must deal with a wide array of the construction of system of national accounting (SNA) including new policy challenges and the need for new system. The article aims to primarily analyse the impact of digital technology to national accounting as a whole. Some suggestions are also illustrated in order to advise the government and regulators to exploit technology in the most benefit method.

Many studies on long chain non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are published in recent years. But the roles of lncRNAs in aortic dissection (AD) are still unclear and should be further examined. The present work focused on determining the molecular mechanisms underlying lncRNAs regulation in aortic dissection on the basis of the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of endogenous small non-coding RNAs involved in the post-transcriptional gene regulation and play a critical role in plant growth, development and stress responses. Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus L.) is one of the important agricultural crops worldwide. However, the watermelon miRNAs and phasiRNAs and their functions are not well explored.

Emerging evidence indicates that Circular RNAs (circRNAs) exert post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. A subclass of circRNA was found enriched with miRNA target sites. This evidence suggests that this kind of circRNA functions as natural miRNA sponge. Noticing the potential impacts of circular RNA research, we were motivated to identify novel circRNAs as well as putative circRNA-miRNA interactions through retroactive sourced transcriptome sequencing samples.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous, small (21–25 nucleotide), non-coding RNAs that play important roles in numerous biological processes. Koi carp exhibit diverse color patterns, making it an ideal subject for studying the genetics of pigmentation. However, the influence of miRNAs on skin color regulation and variation in Koi carp is poorly understood.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) can indirectly regulate mRNAs expression levels by sequestering microRNAs (miRNAs), and act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) or as sponges. Previous studies identified lncRNA-mediated sponge interactions in various cancers including the breast cancer. However, breast cancer subtypes are quite distinct in terms of their molecular profiles; therefore, ceRNAs are expected to be subtype-specific as well.
