The system of dynamic vibration absorber and piezoelectric stack energy harvesting system (DVA-PSEH) has two functions, the first is to reduce vibrations for the primary system, and the second is to convert a part of the vibrational energy into electricity through the piezoelectric effect.

Mixed-phased Inx Sey thin film containing InSe, In2 Se3 and In6 Se7 phases was prepared by M-CBD method and characterized by X-ray diffraction, AFM, optical spectroscopy and J-V measurements. Structural, optical and electrical conductance properties were modified by annealing the films at different temperatures. Optical and morphological properties were also investigated dependently on temperature and concentration of cationic precursor solution.

The proposed system is composed of two symmetric disk-pair layers, called the disk-pair dimer, that exhibited two identical but coupled magnetic resonances at the same frequency. This unique design allows to absorb the electromagnetic energy at the transmission mode, which is rarely achieved in the conventional modes. In this preliminary study, black spinel-carbon nanocomposite was synthesized and investigated for improved solar radiation absorbance aimed for the solar-driven integrated MD seawater desalination process. The black spinel-carbon nanocomposites were based on black spinel CuCr2O4 doped with various Fe3+ content. The black spinel-carbon nanocomposite was synthesized using the hydrothermal method and was characterized with respects to structural morphology and radiation absorbance properties.

The convective heat transfer coefficient was improved up to 23.84% by using TiO2 nanofluids instead of the base fluid. It was found that TiO2 nanofluid with a volume fraction of 0.3% (at a mass flow rate of 0.0689 kg/s) will provide the maximum efficiency enhancement in the PTSC (9.66% higher than the water-based collector). Consequently, the absorbed energy parameter was found to be 10.3% greater than that of the base fluid.
