Supply chain management has become a key factor for major manufacturers in the industry. The new strategies introduced by the aircraft manufacturers have increased the complexity of the supply process, design and production from the aviation industry. This paper highlights a series of factors regarding the aircraft programs supply chain management.

This is fitting for a research subject since research shares the same virtues. In this section a summary of the research will be provided. The summary will briefly explain the origins of the research, how the research was proposed. It will then provide a synopsis of the research methodology and application. The qualitative research case studies will be explained and the quantitative research discussed.

The aim of this Masters of Engineering (MEng) - Aerospace thesis was to investigate the durability of Piezoelectric Wafer Active Sensors (PWAS) for the health monitoring of composite structures. One significant challenge faced by the aviation industry is the cost and time associated with maintaining aircrafts, in particular, aging airliners. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is a possible approach to reduce the high cost of inspection and maintenance.

There has undoubtedly been rapid economic growth in China over the last few decades and the importance of the Chinese market for the aviation industry has greatly increased as China opens up its skies to the West. One of the key challenges for any foreign executive conducting business in China is to understand how cultural differences can impact on business deals. Therefore this study addressed the interesting question of how Chinese culture and in particular the traditional concept of guanxi can impact Irish executives in the aviation industry when conducting business in China.
