This study explored the use of similes and personifications to describe “rain” and “wind” in American and Vietnamese literature from the mid-20th century to the present. The study offered practical suggestions for those who are interested in describing wind and rain in American and Vietnamese novels in particular.

This study, therefore, investigated students’ evaluation of Solutions Pre-intermediate, one textbook belonging to the Solutions series. 256 non-English majors at a public university in Vietnam participated in the study and completed an online 29-item questionnaire which examined their perceptions of the organization, activities, linguistic aspects, and subject and content and their overall evaluation of the textbook.
