English reading motivation

This study aimed to clarify the techniques in reading IELTS test in order to get high score. I was really motivated to choose this topic for two main reasons. The strongest motivation is my belief that reading has an essential role to play in English for Academic Purposes. It is an indispensable language skill for international students who have to read various academic materials for their study at universities.

This action research was conducted with a view to understanding the influence of extensive reading on students‟ changed reading motivation. Extensive reading is believed to build up knowledge of vocabulary and structures for reading comprehension. It was hoped that when extensive reading was encouraged, students‟ reading motivation would change and their reading competence would be improved.

The aim of this study is finding out helpful games for teaching reading lessons which attract students’ attention to the lesson. The students will feel interested, enjoyable and funny when they take part in the reading lesson and it's helpful for students to improve their reading skill in which the study focuses on finding the reality of the first year English majors’ learning English reading and giving them the suggestions for better reading.
