Two hundred sixty one samples, collected from supermarkets in Istanbul, Turkey. All samples were analysed for aerobic mesophilic bacterial counts (AMC), aerobic psychrotrophic bacterial counts (APC), enumeration of yeasts and moulds (YM), coliforms, Escherichia coli and detection of Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, thermotolerant Campylobacter spp.

In the present study, exposure assessment of Bacillus cereus associated with the consumption of street vended chicken briyani sold in Koduvalli village, Ellapuram block, Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu was assessed. Enumeration of B. cereus in chicken briyani was carried out using Hichrome Bacillus Agar, a chromogenic media by adopting pour plate technique. Data on frequency of consumption of chicken biryani by the residents were collected using a structured questionnaire. The results revealed that the Bacillus cereus count in street vended chicken briyani was ranged between 2.32 to 5.

This study was designed to isolate and determine the antibiotic sensitivity pattern of bacteria associated with the hands of commuters in Akure metropolis. The samples were collected using sterile swab sticks at different motor parks (Obaile, Oke-Ijebu, Benin, FUTA and Road block), then transported to Microbiology laboratory for further analyses. Isolation of microorganisms was carried by direct plating on the bacteriological media. The plates were incubated at 37oC for 24 hours. Enumeration of the bacterial isolates was done by direct count of the colonies formed on the plates.

The present study was conducted to determine the total bacterial load with special emphasis on Staphylococcus spp., Salmonella spp. and Escherichia coli in street vended fast foods sold in Bangladesh Agricultural University campus, Mymensingh and to evaluate the antibiotic resistance of isolates. A total of 72 samples from six street vended fast food items included Shingara, Samosa, Piazu, Puri, Potato chop and Beguni were collected. Bacterial enumeration and antimicrobial susceptibility test were made using the following standard microbiological methods.

Free living diazotrophic bacteria bacteria were isolated from the rhizosphere soil of two cultivated rice varieties grown in R. S. Pura and Bishnah blocks of Jammu district of Jammu Division of J&K State. Soil samples were collected from rice rhizosphere at panicle initiation stage. A total of twenty rice grown villages were selected and from each village two composite samples were taken from five plants one each from variety Basmati370 and Ratna through random sampling from each rice growing village of R. S. Pura and Bishnah blocks of Jammu district by using GPS.

A cross sectional descriptive study conducted in Benghazi centre of infectious diseases and immunity (BCIDI) during winter and spring from December 2013 to April 2014. Samples were collected by using the settled plate techniques for the enumeration of bacterial isolates. The air specimens were collected three times; in the morning between the hours of 9 am and 10 am, in the afternoon between 2 noon and 3 pm and in the evening between the hours of 7 pm and 8pm for two seasons.

Cow's milk is sought for its high concentration of animal protein and nutrients. Unfortunately, the conditions of milking, transport, packaging and marketing of milk in Daloa (Côte d'Ivoire) jeopardize its microbiological quality. Our study aimed to study the physicochemical and microbiological characteristics of raw milk (collected from pastures and sellers) and artisanal curd (nonnonkoumou). A total of 33 samples underwent physicochemical analysis. This analysis consisted of determination of pH, titratable acidity, and density.

This study aimed to investigate the bacterial contamination of flake and cube ice being used daily in the community. Thirty-one ice samples were collected from different areas in the city of Can Tho, Vietnam. The enumeration of total aerobic mesophilic counts, presence of coliforms and Escherichia coli (E. coli) and determination of antibiotics resistance of E. coli isolates were examined. The results indicated that total aerobic mesophilic counts ranged from 2.5 to 6.

The population distribution of Assamese monkey Macaca assamensis were studied in Nagarjun forest of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, Nepal and data collected during Dec. 2013 and January 2014, by scan sampling methods along with transect walk through forest trails and ring-road of forest.. Seven bisexual troops were observed in subtropical/lower temperate forest of Nagarjun forest especially around Raniban forest area. The observed smallest troop was with 9 individuals while the largest troop had 37 (41) individuals of different age. The average troop size is 20.57.

We present a term recognition approach to extract acronyms and their definitions from a large text collection. Parenthetical expressions appearing in a text collection are identified as potential acronyms.
