Environmental vulnerability index

This research built up fundamental data on phytoplankton communities for Quang Ngai province. The Centric/Pennate diatom index and diversity would be used as indicators for environmental changes and their values provided warning of eutrophication in this coastal waters including the water surrounding Ly Son island.

The author of the article uses EVI method for 4 indexes in the climate group of the sustainable development index to assess the vulnerability in 3 meteorological stations of Dong Nai river basin. Results show that the indexes of hot periods, cold periods and dry periods remain within safe limits when the vulnerability level is very low at level 1, but the wet periods are more vulnerable at level 3.
