Synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using plant extracts extracted from Ganoderma lucidum in the buffer zone of Bach Ma National Park, Vietnam is a simple, convenient, economical, and environmentally friendly method. This study describes the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles in both cases with and without ultrasonic assistance using Ganoderma lucidum extract as a reducing and protective agent.

This study aims to synthesize and characterize Fe3O4@SiO2 sub-nanoparticles (SNPs) with high saturation magnetization (SM). The research process was conducted in simple and environmentally friendly conditions. The results of ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis presented that the Fe3O4@SiO2 SNPs were well formed and the phase change of Fe3O4 NPs did not happen in Fe3O4@SiO2 SNPs.

This paper presented a straightforward method for synthesizing thioamides by using N-tert-butylsulfinyl amide, aldehyde, and sulfur. The reaction was carried out in water, which is an environmentally friendly solvent. The reaction selectivity and yield were up to 89%.

A series of potential biological active acyl hydrazone derivatives containing ibuprofen moiety (compounds 4a–4p) was synthesized by the condensation of ibuprofen hydrazone with aromatic aldehydes using conventional and microwave irradiation methods. The microwave method was found to be successful with nearly the same or higher yields and shorter reaction time, and it was more environmentally friendly compared to the conventional heating method. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, and APT-NMR spectroscopy.

A one-pot, environmentally friendly, and efficient protocol for the synthesis of novel polyfunctionalized benzo[a]pyrimido[5’,4’:5,6]pyrido[2,3-c ]phenazine derivatives has been reported by a one-pot, four-component sequential reaction between 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione, benzene-1,2-diamines, benzaldehydes, and 6-amino-1,3-dimethyluracil in the presence of p-TSA as a nontoxic, inexpensive, ecofriendly, and efficacious solid acid catalyst. Two C-C bonds, two C=N bonds, and one C-N bond, as well as two new rings, were formed in this reaction.

An efficient synthetic route has been described for the alkylation of 1H -indole, 1H -benzimidazole, and 1H -benzotriazole. This approach features the alkylation of heteroaromatics through in situ generated enones from ketonic Mannich bases under metal-free conditions. A series of alkylated heteroaromatics have been synthesized via the K10 catalyzed alkylation reactions of these heteroaromatics with a variety of ketonic Mannich bases.

A new heterogeneous acid catalyst based on a natural resource, Tunisian clay (Clay-H0.5), has been prepared and characterized by FT-IR, FE-SEM, and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), as well as chemical composition, cation exchange capacity, specific surface area, and pore volume. Acid treatment for 0.5 h enlarged the surface area from 78.24 to 186.10 m2/g and pore volume (PV) from 0.186 to 0.281 cm3/g. The catalytic activity of this material was investigated in ketalization reaction under mild solvent-free conditions. This achieved up to 92% isolated yield for only 10 wt.% of the catalyst.
