Enzyme activities as influenced
-
Vitamins are regarded as vital growth substances. They act as cofactors of various key enzymes involved in metabolism and also have vital influence on metabolic activities of plants. They are believed to play a significant role in plants against abiotic stresses, particularly during water stress. The current experiment was conducted to evaluate the role of exogenously applied thiamin on two white clover cultivars, Super Late Fsd and Layalpur Late, at varying [100% (control), 80%, and 60% field capacities] water regimes.

To study the distribution of soil enzyme urease in some of the vegetables growing soils of Ranga Reddy District of Telangana State, as Ranga Reddy district is near to metropolitan city Hyderabad and most of the farmers are involved in growing vegetables and are supplying to the nearby city to various vegetable markets present nearby. Soil enzyme activity is influenced by physico- chemical properties on soil enzyme.

Nitrogen is a major essential yield limiting nutrient in crop production, it serves as a constituent of many plant cell components, such as amino acids and nucleic acids. Hence it is important to improve the productivity as maize is an exhaustive crop. The low productivity of maize during kharif season is attributed to a wide range of constraints including the low nitrogen use efficiency.

Interest in soil enzyme activity has increased recently since their activities are believed to reflect the potential capacity of soil to perform nutrient transformations. Since, soil microbial and enzyme systems are associated with organic manure management, incorporation of organic manures into soil not only plays an important role in soil chemical and biological activity, but also affects the rate at which nutrients become available to crop plants as well as other forms of life.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season 2015 in alluvial soil at farmer field, in village Loharapur, Varanasi, to study the soil microbial biomass, dynamics and selected enzyme activities as influenced by farm yard manure and inorganic fertilizer. The soil microbial biomass carbon; nitrogen and phosphorous was improved significantly with the different treatments. Highest soil biomass carbons, nitrogen, phosphorous were recorded with the combined application of inorganic nutrients and farm yard manure (T7) over the remaining other treatments.

7, 12-Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) is acting as immunosuppressor and it serves as a tumor initiator. Tumor promotion can be induced with treatments of 12-Otetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) in some models of two-stage carcinogenesis. This allows for a greatly accelerated rate of tumor growth, making many cancer studies possible. The DMBA damages many internal organs including liver, by inducing the production of reactive oxygen species, DNA-adduct formation and affecting the activities of phase I, II, antioxidant and serum enzymes.

The activity of dehydrogenase (µg TPF produced g-1 day-1 ) followed decreasing trend from before treatment imposition to 3 days after treatment imposition thereafter it showed increasing trend. Sulfonyl urea herbicides had the lower dehydrogenase activity immediately after herbicide application as compared to the other herbicide group’s viz., chloroacetamide, triazolepyramidine, pyramidinethiobenzole and aryloxyphenoxy propionate. Urease activity (g of NH4 + released g-1 soil 2 hr-1 ), increased from 0 DAT up to 45 DAT and thereafter it decreased.

Colour patterns are the most distinct phenotypic traits in the majority of the living organism including fishes and considered as one of the main influencing factors in consumers’ buying decisions. Color traits are regulated by mainly four types of pigments stored in chromatophores. Melanin, is one of the most important pigment of cells, responsible for the coloration. Tyrosinase is a characteristics enzyme in melanin biosynthesis. Modulation of tyrosinase is of significance in the ornamental fish industry, food fishes as well as in humans.

The microbial and enzyme activities of the soil are closely related to the organic matter content and influenced by hydrothermal regimes of the soil. Keeping this in view, the study conducted that effect of different cropping systems on dehydrogenase, urease, acid and alkaline phosphatase activity and microbial population like bacteria, fungi and actinimycetes was evaluated from ˃ 20 year old cultivation under different cropping systems i.e., mango, cashew, vegetable, rose and medicinal and aromatic crops at different depths (0-15, 15- 30, 30-50. 50-100 cm).

Terrestrial ecosystems consist of above- and below-ground components that interact to influence community- and ecosystem-level processes and properties. Soils act as the most important medium between these linkages. These input-output systems influence the soil physico-chemical conditions, diversity and activity of soil biota that are responsible for innumerable processes that occur in the soil. Micro-organisms are the main source of enzymes in soils and a large group of other enzymes are also secreted by the plants in their rhizospheric zone.

Study was conducted to evaluate the effect of different fertilizer regimes on fungal to bacterial ratio and correlation between the carbon related microbial community and enzyme activities. Result showed that application of bioinoculant with green manure significantly decreased F/B biomass ratio (0.441) which is significantly lower than treatment having sole application of inorganic fertilizer.

The rice-wheat cropping system, which is considered as the backbone of food selfsufficiency, is facing a sustainability problem due to practices of modern production system with indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. So, effects of long term use of mineral fertilizers and farmyard manure (FYM) under rice (Oryza sativa)– wheat (Triticum aestivum) cropping system in a Mollisol was investigated. Rice and wheat yields were highest (51.47 and 48.60 q ha-1 , respectively) with 100% NPK + 15 t FYM ha−1 and lowest in control (13.72 and 11.85 q ha-1 , respectively).

Lipases are enzymes that catalyze the transformation reactions of triglycerides in to fatty acids and glycerol. They can be produced by animals, plants and microorganisms. This article presents the isolation of lipase-producing bacteria from soil samples collected from sites contaminated with waste from palm oil production in the littoral region of Cameroon. These permit to isolate a multitude of bacteria capable of producing lipase from Rhodamine B-agar olive oil culture medium.
