While immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) occasionally cause immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in various organs, the prevalence of irAEs and potential risk factors have not been clarified. We identified irAE predictive factors and examined the relationship between the effect of ICIs and irAEs for patients with malignancies.

Feline pancreatitis (FP) is an important health problem of cats. Its diagnostics is based on the combina‑ tion of quantifcation of serum pancreatic lipase immunoreactivity (fPLI) and abdominal ultrasonography (AUS).

Tests to identify reversible airflow limitation are important in asthma diagnosis, but they are time-consuming and it may be difficult for patients to cooperate. We aimed to evaluate whether the combination of fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) and blood eosinophil (B-Eos) can be used to distinguish some asthma patients who could avoid objective tests.

Blood eosinophil count may predict treatment response in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) during acute exacerbations (AE). However, the ability and thresholds of blood eosinophil counts in stable status to predict eosinophilic AECOPD have not been completely investigated.

Blood eosinophil counts (BEC) were recently included in the 2019 Global Initiative for Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) guideline as an easily accessible theragnostic biomarker for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). However, the stability of BEC remains insufficiently studied.

Asthma inflammatory phenotypes are often defined by relative cell counts of airway eosinophils/neutrophils. However, the importance of neutrophilia remains unclear, as does the effect of ICS treatment on asthma phenotypes and airway neutrophil function.

Hypereosinophilia, defined by an absolute eosinophil count of more than 1500/mm3, is rarely observed in patients treated for cancer, and rarely imputable to anti-cancer agents. Drug-induced hypereosinophilia usually appears within a few weeks of the start of treatment and resolves after discontinuation of the medication.

Haematological parameters in ten apparently healthy adult horses at Mountain research Centre for Sheep and Goat, SKUAST Kashmir were examined to establish their reference values. The mean red blood cell (RBC) counts, packed cell volume (PCV), haemoglobin (Hb) concentration, white blood cell (WBC) counts, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH) and mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC) were found to be comparable with the normal values. The mean absolute values of neutrophil, eosinophil, lymphocyte, monocyte and basophil were also within the normal range.

The present study was conducted among twelve dogs of various breeds having mature cataract. Those dogs were randomly divided into two groups as A and B comprising six dogs in each group. Group B dogs were subjected for CTR placement, phacoemulsification and IOL implantation, and in Group A phacoemulsification followed by IOL implantation only.

The present study was conducted on 12 dogs of either, sex, breed, aged between 1-8 years brought to T.V.C.C, Jabalpur having a diaphyseal fracture in any of the long bones i.e. Humerus, femur and tibia. The dogs were randomly divided into three equal groups irrespective of breed and sex. The radiographs in two standard views were taken to diagnose the fracture and to select optimum titanium pins. In all the three groups, the diaphyseal fractures were repaired with internal fixation using titanium elastic pin. In group I, the fracture was repaired by using the titanium pin alone.

To compare sputum cellularity between HIV-positive and -negative individuals with pulmonary tuberculosis. A cross-sectional study was conducted in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Sputum samples were collected and processed within two hours after collection. The absolute number of squamous cells of a total of 400 cells was counted, as well as the absolute number (× 106 cells/ml) and percentage of eosinophils, lymphocytes, macrophages and neutrophils and total cellularity and viability were determined.

Hematologic Syndromes: Introduction The elevation of granulocyte, platelet, and eosinophil counts in most patients with myeloproliferative disorders is caused by the proliferation of the myeloid elements due to the underlying disease rather than a paraneoplastic syndrome. The paraneoplastic hematologic syndromes in patients with solid tumors are less well characterized than the endocrine syndromes because the ectopic hormone(s) or cytokines responsible have not been identified in most of these tumors (Table 96-2).

Eosinophilia Eosinophilia is the presence of 500 eosinophils per µL of blood and is common in many settings besides parasite infection. Significant tissue eosinophilia can occur without an elevated blood count. A common cause of eosinophilia is allergic reaction to drugs (iodides, aspirin, sulfonamides, nitrofurantoin, penicillins, and cephalosporins). Allergies such as hay fever, asthma, eczema, serum sickness, allergic vasculitis, and pemphigus are associated with eosinophilia. Eosinophilia also occurs in collagen vascular diseases (e.g.
