  • Thoroughly revised, the second edition of Software Testing: A Craftsman's Approach reflects the recent growth and changes in software standards and development. Outdated material has been deleted and new topics, figures, case studies now complement its solid, accessible treatment of the mathematics and techniques of software testing. Foremost among this edition's refinements is the definition of a generalized pseudocode that replaces the outdated Pascal code used in the examples. The text is now independent of any particular programming language.

  • The aim of this study is to compare the bioclimatic comfort conditions of Uşak city between 1990 and 2018. In the first stage, the bioclimatic comfort conditions of the city centre between 1990 and 2018 were determined according to the Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) index obtained from the RayMan model by using hourly data of the meteorological station in the city centre; air temperature (°C), relative humidity (%), wind velocity(m/s) and cloudiness (octa).

  • To investigate effects of decomposition roasting temperature and necessary acid amount for decomposition, ore concentrate with TREO content about 39% was used as original ore concentrate (three samples named as Q3, Q5 and Q6), the rates of ore and acid (by chemical equivalence) were 1/1.6, 1/1.4 and 1/1.2, decomposition roasting temperatures were changed in a range of 400 – 420 oC, roasting time was 2h.

  • This paper proposes a novel beamforming solution for multi-receiver synthetic aperture sonar (SAS), which uses gated continuous-wave (CW) pulses, based on the average value of equivalent sound velocity (ESV) when considering the change of the sound velocity with depth. The main beam can be steered to desirable positions with the proposed solution.

  • The value of cardiac troponin as a risk assessment tool for cardiac disease in the setting of end-stage renal diseases (ESRD) is not equivalent to its value in those with normal renal function. This consideration had not been studied in settings of acute kidney injury (AKI). We aim to explore the diagnostic value of high sensitive troponin T (hsTnT) in the settings of cardiac surgery-induced AKI.

  • Changes in cardiac power parameters incorporate changes in both aortic flow and blood pressure. We hypothesized that dynamic and non-dynamic cardiac power parameters would track hypovolemia better than equivalent flow- and pressure parameters, both during spontaneous breathing and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV).

  • Based on the monthly averaged sea surface chlorophyll-a concentration data continuously for more than 17 years (Jul. 2002–Dec. 2019), the analyzed results show that the averaged chlorophyll-a concentration in Khanh Hoa waters was 0.58 mg/m3, and the monthly average variation was ± 0.14 mg/m3 (that is equivalent to about ± 24%). Under the impact of ENSO phenomena, in the years when the double La Niña events occurred (two consecutive years in the La Nina event occurs), the chlorophyll-a anomaly index fluctuated from -0.99 mg/m3 to 1.62 mg/m3.

  • The aim of this study was to recover CO2 greenhouse gas from flue gas of rubber latex dryer by absorption in the bubble tower with water and a solution containing NaCl content, equivalent to Zarrouk medium. Adsorbed CO2 could be converted to HCO3 − at appropriate pH conditions, used as a medium for cultivation of Spirulina platensis (S. platensis) algae to collect biomass and, furthermore, released oxygen which contributes to reducing climate change.

  • In this study, Sentinel–1A satellite imagery is used to extract the coastline in Phan Thiet City. The boundary between land and water is determined by a two–step process: fuzzy clustering and interactive thresholding. Subsequently, the coastline in the study area was extracted into vector form. Finally, this shoreline is compared to manually digitized shoreline. There are 350 locations considered to determine the distance between two shorelines, of which 274 locations (77%) are 0 to 5 m (equivalent to ½ pixel) and 76 (23%) locations are over 5 m.

  • Molecular characterization is an essential step of risk/safety assessment of genetically modified (GM) crops. Holistic approaches for molecular characterization using omics platforms can be used to confirm the intended impact of the genetic engineering, but can also reveal the unintended changes at the omics level as a first assessment of potential risks.

  • In India rice-wheat cropping has been adopted widely which leads to deterioration of soil fertility and decrease in water use efficiency. In addition to these change in climate, vagaries of monsoon also leads to decrease in yields of the crop. Conservation agricultural (CA) based management practices together with nutrient management have demonstrated to produce more with less by these way it also conserve and sustain natural resources. In north eastern India maize crop is grown alternative to rice based cropping system due to variability in climatic condition and degradation of resources.

  • The maturity method utilizes the principle that directly relates the strength of concrete to the cumulative temperature history of the concrete. Using this principle, the Engineer and Contractor can quickly and reliably estimate the field strength of concrete based on the maturity index (equivalent age or time-temperature factor) rather than by beam or cylinder tests in the field or the laboratory. The maturity as applied to a concrete mix is specific to that particular mix.

This is more convenient than previously suggested parameterizations because it is given as a single explicit formula.

  • In this paper we study quota complexes (or equivalently in the case of scalar weights, threshold complexes) and how the topology of these quota complexes changes as the quota is changed. This problem is a simple “linear” version of the general question in Morse Theory of how the topology of a space varies with a parameter.

  • Process costing is used in situations where homogeneous products or services are produced on a continuous basis. Costs flow through the manufacturing accounts in basically the same way in a process costing system as in a job-order costing system. However, costs are accumulated by department rather than by job in process costing. In process costing, the equivalent units of production must be determined for each cost cat- egory in each department.
