This study was undertaken to estimate the combining ability in linseed through diallel analysis involving eight diverse genotypes. A 8 x 8 full diallel crosses study, including the reciprocals, with linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) was performed to determine both the magnitude of gene action and heterotic performance of the crosses for seed yield, oil content and important yield components.

Ten diverse Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L. Czern and Coss) genotypes suitable for early, timely and late sown condition were crossed in diallel mating design excluding reciprocals with an objective to identify the heterotic crosses. All three type of heterosis (relative heterosis, heterobeltiosis and economic heterosis) were estimated for seed yield and contributing traits.

Line × Tester analysis was carried out using 13 lines and 3 testers to estimate heterosis on seed yield and its contributing characters in Opium Poppy. The 39 resulting hybrids along with their parents were evaluated in Randomized Block Design during Rabi 2019-2020. The analysis of variance revealed the presence of variability among parents and crosses for the characters studied.

A study was conducted on brinjal to identify superior parental combinations and to estimate the magnitude of heterosis for yield and its component traits. Higher heterosis for fruit yield per plant over commercial check was exhibited by the cross JBL-08-08 x NSR-1(33.47 %) followed by AB-09-1 x NBB-1 (28.21 %), GBL – 1 x NSR -1 (23.52 %) and GBL – 1 x NBB – 1 (17.25%).

The present investigation was carried out to estimate relative heterosis and heterobeltiosis in wheat genotypes to identify desirable cross combinations under high temperature stress for days to heading, grain filling duration, days to maturity, plant height, number of tillers per plant, flag leaf area, number of grains per spike, peduncle length, spike length, 1000-grain weight, biological yield per plant, grain yield per plant and harvest index.
