In the natural sciences, the concept of “(natural) tipping points” has become a hot topic in climate change research. To better understand and evaluate the possibilities for and the barriers to the fundamental societal transformations necessary for climate change mitigation, we suggest a social tipping dynamics framework.

This research, which uses methods of evaluating economic values, aims to quantitatively assess the extent of damage caused by SLR on an area of mangrove forests in Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province. The valuation of these impacts will provide a basis for scientists, research institutions, and localities to proactively mitigate and adapt to climate change. Research results show the damage of climate change and SLR to the coastal mangrove forests in Giao Thuy and the risk to agricultural land use in the Nghia Hung and Hai Hau districts.

Resilient land use planning for resilient cities in Vietnam - issues and opinions for implementation
This paper describes the essential elements of resilient land-use planning for climate change and hazard mitigation. The prospects and challenges to implement RLUP into the practical context of cities in Vietnam are analyzed and evaluated. This paper also highlights the approach of RLUP as well as the process of mainstreaming RLUP to urban planning so that it will be more resilient to natural hazards throughout some practical examples already implemented in Vietnam.

The amount of carbon accumulated in forest tree corresponding to the amount of CO2 sequestered by forest trees is very high, which is of significance to reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, contributing to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, and responding to climate change. The great ability of forests to store carbon is a highly important element for the implementation of REDD, REDD+ programs in Viet Nam.
