Common scab caused by Streptomyces scabies (Thaxter) Waksman & Henrici is an important disease worldwide, and can cause significant reduction in the economic value of potato. The management of the disease can be done through conventional methods, biological chemical and cultivation of resistant variety. However, resistance against pathogen is not a permanent solution and fungicidal is not ecofriendly and economical. But new search, induce resistance has taken great attention for plant disease management in near future.

The present investigation was conducted during kharif seasons of 2014 and 2015 over four different environments to study stability analysis in potato during Kharif season in Koraput region of Odisha. The field study was laid out in randomised block design in three replications. The 16 genotypes used in the study included released varieties, hybrids of potato belonging to Solanum tuberosum sub sp. Tuberosum. Of the 16 varieties evaluated; Kufri Lalit, Kufri Lalima, Kufri Pukhraj and Kufri Jyoti showed better adaptability for yield/plant and marketable yield.

The evaluation study was conducted for different potato varieties and local genotypes collected from different parts of Chhattisgarh and screened against bacterial wilt and viral diseases complex. The locally collected genotypes have been further categorized on the basis of their distinct growth, yield, quality and disease and insect pest reactions behaviour. The study was carried-out at Department of Vegetable Science, IGKV, Raipur, Chhattisgarh in consecutive years i.e. 2013-14 to 2018-19.

Activated charcoal is often used in plant tissue culture to improve cell growth and development by absorbing the beneficial plant growth promoting substances from the media. Thus the main aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of different concentrations of activated charcoal on the recalcitrant varieties of potato. The MS media strength (full and half) did not influence the plant growth and development of potato varieties as both the strengths did equally well in combination with lower concentration of activated charcoal (200mg/l).

This experiment was done to investigate in vitro propagation and nucleus seed production efficiency of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) developed clone potato varieties. In vitro shoots of potato varieties BARI Alu-35, BARI Alu-36, BARI Alu-37, BARI Alu-40, BARI Alu-46 and BARI Alu-62 were used as planting materials and BARI Alu-7 was used as check variety.

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the performance of seven promising potato cultivars for growth, yield attributes, yield and grades under Northern Telangana Zone. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with three replications and seven treatments during rabi 2017-18 at Horticultural Research Station, Adilabad. There is significant variation among the varieties in the growth, yield attributes, yield and grades of potato. Highest per cent of plant emergence was reported in Kufri Chandramukhi and Kufri Jyothi (100%).

The late blight disease caused by Phytophthora infestans, is a serious threat to potato cultivation worldwide. The varietal resistant is cheapest and environment friendly for management of this disease. A total of twenty two (two sets) advanced potato hybrids along with four control varieties namely Kufri Bahar, Kufri Garima, Kufri Shailja and Kufri Girdhari were evaluated during crop seasons (2012-15) for resistance against late blight.

The experiment was conducted under AICRP on Potato at Horticultural Research and Extension Station, Somanahallikaval, Hassan for three consecutive years from 2014-2016 during Kharif season to know their yield potentiality and late blight disease tolerance capability of 12 different promising varieties. The varieties viz., Kufri Jyoti, Kufri Himalini, Kufri Bahar, Kufri Gaurav, Kufri Garima, Kufri Pushkar, Kufri Badshah, Kufri Khyati, Kufri Pukhraj, Kufri Surya, Kufri Ashoka and Kufri Lauvkar were evaluated under natural epiphytotic conditions.

Six potato cultivars and three advance stage hybrids were evaluated for tuber yield were harvested at 75 and 90 days after planting at Potato Research Station, SDAU, Deesa. In field trials conducted during four years from 2014-15 to 2017-18, cv. Kufri Khyati produced the highest total and marketable tuber yield followed by popular varieties Kufri Pukhraj and Kufri Badshah under both maturity groups. Storage of these genotypes for 75 days at ambient temperature revealed minimum total weight loss in cv. Kufri Laukar followed by Kufri Badshah, Kufri Pushkar and Kufri Pukhraj.

The experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Kota during 2018-19 to evaluate potato cultivars viz. AICRP -P-39, KufriBahar and KufriPukhraj at four N levels (0, 80, 160 and 240 kg N/ ha), to find out the N requirement and agronomic use efficiency of N. Results revealed that KufriPukhraj recorded maximum yield, agronomic efficiency and net return at 160kg/ha of nitrogen followed by AICRP-P-39.KufriPukhraj proved to possess high tolerance to N stress and was the most nitrogen efficient variety followed by AICRP -P-39.

The research was conducted to prepare β-carotene rich dahi with different levels of sweet potato (SP) juice (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50%). Different physical, nutritional and sensory characteristics were analysed to assay the quality of β-carotene rich dahi. Data on different parameters were recorded and analyzed. It was found that the physical, nutritional and sensory qualities of dahi improved by addition of Sweet potato juice. Addition of SP juice increases the Protein (3.60 to 6.77g), Ash (0.71 to 3.79%) and βcarotene content (4.52 mg/100g).
