  • In this study, the Newton–Raphson method has been calibrated as an operational algorithm to evaluate the laser heat flux value accurately in the 3-D conduction model. To confirm the effectiveness of the presented method, the paper has given two specific applications. It is obtained that the sequential method is a reasonable, correct, and powerful method to determine the inversely laser heat flux in the three-dimensional conduction model.

  • A field experiment was conducted during kharif 2012 to evaluate the efficacy of different pre and post emergence herbicides in direct seeded rice. The chemical treatments included two pre-emergence herbicides namely pendimethalin 1000 g/ha and oxadiargyl 100 g/ha and four post-emergence herbicides viz. bispyribac-sodium 25 g/ha, fenoxaprop 67 g/ha, ethoxysulfuron 18.75 g/ha and chlorimuron-ethyl +metsulfuron-methyl RM 4 g/ha at 25 DAS. Weed free and weedy check were also included.

  • A field experiments was conducted at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Rajendranagar during kharif 2017 for the evaluation of dosage of diuron suitable in both red and black soils. The treatment consisted of test herbicides such as, diuron 80% WP at 0.5 kg ha-1 , 0.75 kg ha-1 and 1.0 kg ha-1 along with registered formulation of pendimethalin 38.7% CS at 677 g ha-1 , intercropping with green manure crop, mechanical weeding thrice at 20, 40, 60 DAS and unweeded control. The experiment was laid out in a randomised block design replicated thrice.

  • A total of ten treatments were evaluated in a randomized block design (RBD) with three replications on sandy loam soils of Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The treatments comprised of pre-emergence herbicides (alachlor 1000 g ha -1 and atrazine 1000 g ha -1) followed by post-emergence herbicides (Halosulfuron-methyl 67.5 g ha -1 , Tembotrione 100 g ha -1 and 2,4-D sodium salt).

  • The effect of optimized dosage of bio-agents as soil application and as sucker treatment for the management of root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita and spiral nematode, Helicotylenchus multicinctus in banana was studied under field condition. Application of Pseudomonas fluorescens 100g as soil application resulted in 68% reduction of root knot nematode and spiral nematode populations over control. The P. fluorescens soil treatment also recorded enhanced the plant height (274.0 cm), number of leaves (14.0/plant), pseudostem girth (55.9 cm) at 270 days after planting.

  • This paper proposes a two-step sequential training in concept mapping. The first step requires the fulfilment of low-order cognitive objectives (remember, understand and apply) to facilitate novices’ development into good Cmappers by honing their knowledge representation skills. The second step requires the fulfilment of high-order cognitive objectives (analyse, evaluate and create) to grow good Cmappers into excellent ones through the development of knowledge modelling skills.

  • This paper studies the problem of identifying erroneous/correct sentences. The problem has important applications, e.g., providing feedback for writers of English as a Second Language, controlling the quality of parallel bilingual sentences mined from the Web, and evaluating machine translation results. In this paper, we propose a new approach to detecting erroneous sentences by integrating pattern discovery with supervised learning models. Experimental results show that our techniques are promising. ...
