High-density single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are the most abundant and robust form of genetic variants and hence make highly favorable markers to determine the genetic diversity and relationship, enhancing the selection of breeding materials and the discovery of novel genes associated with economically important traits.

The Elaeis oleifera genetic materials were assembled from its center of diversity in South and Central America. These materials are currently being preserved in Malaysia as ex situ living collections. Maintaining such collections is expensive and requires sizable land. Information on the genetic diversity of these collections can help achieve efficient conservation via maintenance of core collection.

Benign juvenile idiopathic epilepsy has been described in humans but rarely in animals. The objectives of the study were to describe the clinical signs, clinical data, imaging findings, genetic examinations, treatment, long-term outcome and prognosis in Iberian lynx with juvenile epilepsy. Medical records, video recordings and diagnostic data from 2005 to 2019 were reviewed.

Astragalus devesae Talavera, A. González & G. López (Fabaceae) is a threatened Hispanic endemic species whose distribution is restricted to the center of Spain (the province of Ávila). It is classified as “Critically Endangered” in the 2010 List of Threatened Spanish Vascular Flora and as “Endangered” in the “Decree 63/2007” of Castile and Leon (administrative region in which Ávila is included). In this study, censuses of three existing populations were carried out and one of these that was found along the course of this work, was ecologically characterized.

Conserving the plant genetic resources through any means is of utmost importance to prevent the loss of plant biodiversity. Long-term storage using liquid nitrogen (LN) is usually adopted for developing long-term base collections of crops for use in the distant future. The fruit crops are commonly propagated through vegetative means and are majorly conserved as ex situ field gene banks, which require large areas and demand intensive field management.

Interspecies cloning has a prudent and promising role to be played in future for conservation of endangered species. Many ex-situ conservation programs employed till date are not enough to tackle the problem of conservation of endangered species.

One of the recent innovations in the field of agriculture is Pink Farming. It is a ex-situ farming technique using pink colored illumination for the cultivation of crops. This pinkcolored light is a mixture of red and blue lights from LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). are being converted into vertical pink farms are made by transformation of large warehouses located in the suburbs of the cities, growing crops arranged in shelves, top to bottom, one over other. Japan has the World‟s biggest indoor vertical pink farm, Mirai Co. is situated at Japan.

Ravine ecosystems are highly dynamic and completely deformatted terrain landscape. In these regions, Indigenous plant species are playing significant role in environmental rehabilitation because of their exultant survival and high adaptation to local conditions. Despite this, very little information’s available about existence of medicinal plants on the typical ravine flora. The present study attempted to explore the diversity and distribution of medicinal plant flora in the Yamuna ravines of Agra (U.P) and Chambal ravines of Kota district (Rajasthan).

Eulophia angolensis is an endangered plant species found in the Okavango Delta. Generally, there is lack of botanical information on this species in Botswana, which is necessary for its in-situ and ex-situ conservation. The objectives of this research are to map areas where E. angolensis occurs, determine the species that co-exist with it, and establish soil factors that influence its abundance and distribution in the Okavango Delta. A survey of the area where the plant was sighted in 2004 was carried out using recorded GPS points.

Dipterocarpus dyeri (Dipterocarpaceae) is widely distributed in lowland rainforests in southeastern Vietnam. Due to over-exploitation and habitat destruction in the 1980s and 1990s, this species is listed as threatened. Understanding the genetic variation and mating rate among D. dyeri population that occurs in forest patches is necessary to establish effectively conservation strategies for this species. To conserve the species in tropical forests, genetic diversity and mating rate were investigated using eight microsatellites (single sequence repeat, SSR) as markers.
