Extension methods and materials

This paper presents an extension of the Proportional Topology Optimization (PTO) with virtual elements for multi-material problems with mass and cost constraints. In particular, the linear virtual element method (VEM) is constructed on unstructured polygonal meshes. The linear VEM is desirable in the sense that numerical integration is not explicitly required, significantly reducing the computational effort.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the technological feasibility of biological filtration process for Mn control in Lorne WTP. This thesis consists of eight chapters. Microwave energy has very successful application in the field of food processing particularly for food drying to preserve the quality of the precious food materials. In this article, various food materials dried using microwave energy were extensively reviewed. Microwave drying appears to be a viable drying method for the rapid drying of food materials. It was noticed that at the higher microwave output power considerably lower drying time took place. The application of pulsed microwave energy was found more efficient than the continuous application.

This study was designed to describe the radiological findings of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and to compare the observed findings with findings of drug-sensitive (DS) and non-XDR multidrug- resistant (MDR) TB in non-AIDS patients. Materials and Methods: From September 1994 to December 2007, 53 MDR TB patients (M:F = 32:21; mean age, 38 years) and 15 XDR TB non-AIDS patients (M:F = 8:7; mean age, 36 years) were enrolled in the study.
