Extension participation between farmers

The research study was conducted during the year 2015 to study relationship between the personal, socio-economic and psychological characteristics and livelihood security of the tribal farmers in high altitude tribal zone of Karnataka state. The study revealed that education, land holding, annual income, extension contact, mass media exposure, social participation, economic orientation, risk orientation and level of aspiration had shown positively significant relationship and fatalism had shown negatively significant relationship with livelihood security of tribal farmers.

The present study was undertaken to analyze the extension contacts and participation in extension activities between the farmers using drip irrigation system and conventional irrigation system in kinnow cultivation of Punjab by collecting data from 200 farmers (100 each) in four districts of Punjab which were selected purposively i.e. Bathinda, Fazilka, Hoshiarpur and Sri Muktsar Sahib/ Faridkot.

The present study was conducted mainly with the objective to study “Farmer‟s perception about climate change in Marathwada Region.” For the study, Latur and Beed district were selected from Marathwada region of Maharashtra state during the years 2018-19. Four talukas viz., Latur and Renapur of Latur District and Kaij and Ambajogai from Beed district were selected randomly and two villages from each talukas were selected randomly. From each village fifteen members were randomly selected constituting the sample size 120. Ex-post-facto research design was used for the study.

In toria the low production and productivity of local varieties is considered as one of the major constraints of traditional toria farming which has created gap between demand and supply of edible oil. Krishi Vigyan Kendra- Tirap of the ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VI, Guwahati conducted the Cluster Frontline Demonstration (CFLD) on oilseed to increase productivity and farmer income in the 12 villages during 2017- 18. Thus, 12 villages of the Tirap were selected to conduct the CFLDs on toria crop.

The study was conducted in Andhra Pradesh state during 2017-18. A total of 120 Bt cotton tenant farmers were selected randomly for the study. Data was collected with interview schedule. To study the nature of the relationship between the profile characteristics and knowledge level of Bt cotton tenant farmers, correlation coefficients (r) was computed and the values were presented in Table 1. The relationship between the profile and knowledge level of Bt cotton tenant farmers were tested by null hypothesis and empirical hypothesis.
