Facile hydrothermal method

In this study, we fabricated α-Fe2O3 materials via a facile hydrothermal route to use as the active material for the anode of an iron-based battery. The particle size of α-Fe2O3 was in a range of a few hundreds of nanometers to a few micrometers.

Z-scheme Ag2WO4/BiOBr heterojunction with rich oxygen vacancies was successfully synthesized by the simplest hydrothermal method, which was systematically characterized in the structural, optical and electronic properties. The photocatalytic applications of Z-scheme Ag2WO4/BiOBr heterostructure with different weight percentages of Ag2WO4 were studied.

We reported a facile one-pot synthesis of bimetallic CoCu nanoparticles (NPs) anchored on graphene hydrogel (GH-CoCu) as catalysts in hydrogen generation from the hydrolysis of ammonia borane (HAB). The presented novel one-pot method composed of the reduction of the mixture of graphene oxide, cobalt(II), and copper(II) acetate tetrahydrates by aqueous ethylene glycol solution in a teflon-coated stainless-steel reactor at 180 °C. The structure of the yielded GH-CoCu nanocatalysts was characterized by TEM, SEM, XRD, XPS, and ICP-MS.

The hydrothermal growing conditions such as temperature and time were investigated by Xray diffractometry (XRD), Raman scattering, as well as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). It is shown that the as-prepared ZnO nanorod was grown well-vertically on the substrate. Furthermore, we investigated the photocatalytic activity of synthesized samples, which showed the enhanced photodegradation ability in the composite sample.

A three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide/nickel-cobalt sulfide (RGO/NiCo2S4) aerogel was fabricated by an efficient and facile one-step hydrothermal approach. The NiCo2S4 needle-like structure consisted of many small nanoparticles well attached to the surface of the RGO sheet. The prepared aerogel had high porosity and conductivity.

In this study, homogeneous titanate tubular (TNT) and diatom/TNT composites (D/TNT) were prepared by a facile hydrothermal method. The crystalline structure and morphology of the synthesised samples were studied by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Furthermore, the photocatalytic activity for degradation of methylene blue (MB) was investigated under sunlight irradiation. The results showed that the MB degradation by D/TNT was higher than bare TNT.

The octahedron Zn2SnO4 was prepared through a facile hydrothermal method for ethanol gas-sensing application. The synthesized material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and powder x-ray diffraction (XRD). The gas-sensing characteristics were measured at various concentrations of ethanol at temperature ranging from 350 to 450 ºC. The gas response exhibits good linear relationship with increasing ethanol concentrations in the range of 50 -250 ppm.

In this report, thin layers of MoS2 were in-situ incorporated into graphene oxide (GO) to form MoS2/graphene nanocomposite by a facile ultrasonic-assisted hydrothermal method. Xray Diffraction (XRD) and Raman analysis revealed that the as-synthesized MoS2 nanosheets crystalized in hexagonal phase 2H-MoS2 while High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM) images confirmed that MoS2 layers with average thickness of ~5–6 nm (6–8 layers) attached on the edges and surfaces of graphene sheets with high density and uniform shape restacking in three-dimensional (3D) architectures.

The MoS2 nanostructures with different morphologies were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method using precursors of ammonium molybdate ((NH4)6Mo7O24.4H2O), thiourea (CH4N2S) and hydroxylammonium chloride (NH2OH.HCl). As-prepared MoS2 samples with different growth temperatures of 160, 180, and 200 °C were characterized by Raman spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and x-ray powder diffraction (XRD).

In the current work, we report a facile synthesis of n-SnO2/p-NiO nanowire heterojunctions by a drop-coating approach. The pure SnO2 and NiO nanowires (NWs) were grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and hydrothermal methods, respectively. Morphology, composition and crystal structures of the NWs and heterojunctions were investigated by means of field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively.

The pure orthorhombic- and rhombohedral-structure NaNbO3 microcrystals were obtained selectively by a facile, additive-free hydrothermal procedure using commercialized Nb2O5, NaOH, KOH as starting materials. The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometry, Raman spectroscopy. The results showed that the required hydrothermal temperatures to synthesize single crystalline phase of rhombohedral and orthorhombic NaNbO3 are as low as 180 and 200 oC for 24 h, respectively.
