  • Mid-Himalayan Watershed Development Project has been reckoned as an instrument to bring the second-generation Green Revolution through, increasing productivity in rainfed areas. The study revealed that the dependency ratio with respect to total workers was found to be 0.40 in case of beneficiary families and 0.26 in case of non- beneficiary families. It was found that with the interventions of the project there has significant change in area of major crops, increase in productivity and net returns of the beneficiary farms.

The proportion of agricultural workers to the total workers has been declining over the years, while the corresponding ratio in the secondary and tertiary sectors is on the rise.
