Farmer’s towards value addition

The present study was conducted in Haryana state and two districts Hisar from southwest and Sonipat from northeast were selected, purposively. From each district, three blocks were selected randomly. Further, three villages were selected from each block making a total of 18 villages. From each village, ten farmers were selected randomly, making a total sample of 180 farmers. Hence, one hundred eighty farmers were interviewed for the study.

An attempt has been made to examine the resource use efficiency, marginal value productivity of resources and return to scale of Cashewnut grown by different categories of farmers. Selsella block of West Garo Hills district in Meghalaya was selected purposively and two stage stratified random sampling method was adopted for selection of sample villages and respondents.

Krishi Vigyan Kendras or Farm Science Centres have been established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in all districts of Tamil Nadu. The trust areas of KVKs are refinement and demonstration of technologies, and training of farmers, farm women, rural youth and extension functionaries. Imparting trainings in agriculture and allied fields for the rural youth is one of its mandates. Effective training is considered as an important factor in determining the efficiency of an organization which depends upon the capability of its trainees.
