The influence of different crop establishment methods and weed management practices on productivity and economics of rice was studied at College Farm, College of Agriculture, ANGRAU (Hyderabad) during the kharif season 2010 and 2011 in sandy loam soils. The present investigation was conducted in Khammam district, Telangana state during 2018-19 to study the Knowledge and adoption status of direct seeded paddy using drum seeder in puddled conditions by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Wyra, Khammam in six villages of the district for enhanced resource use efficiency and reducing the cost of paddy cultivation.

Nutrient supply and availability during crop growth influences various microbial mediated biochemical reactions and nutrient transformations. The evaluation of contingent crop (Niger) has been placed in two different locality of Koderma (Jharkhand). The two locations for inception of trail were selected on the basis of failure of primary Kharif season crop rice on upland field condition. Aberrant and harsh weather condition including erratic, sometime lack to rainfall forced the farmers to transplant aged seeding which may directly affect the yield of rice. In the year of 2016-17 the Basdih and Paharpur village of Markacho block were selected for placement of Niger crop.

Aerobic rice is a new way of cultivating rice that requires less water than lowland rice. Direct sown aerobic rice suffers more due to weed menace as the weeds and rice compete for growth factors together. Achieving higher rice grain yields under aerobic conditions requires better weed management practices. Hence, the aerobic rice should be focused primarily on efficient weed management to make aerobic rice cultivation more efficient in terms of returns on farmer investments and use of water resources.

On farm trial were conducted during Kharif, 2014 and 2015, to assess the feasibility of Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) options at farmer’s field as compared to transplanted rice (TPR) with an objective to reduce cost of cultivation and improve resource use efficiency. Total variable cost saving of 52.06 per cent was observed in direct seeded rice (DSR) as compared to manual puddled transplanted rice.
