Farmers perceived effectiveness of information

In rural development nothing is more important than effective communication of farm information. In India where farmers live in less accessible and isolated villages communication is all the most difficult. In this situation television could be hopefully expected to cater to the needs of farm televiewers to a great extent. Television plays a very important role in the dissemination of farm information to the farmers. The present study was conducted in Jaipur region of Rajasthan which had Television Programme. Out of five districts in Jaipur region, Jaipur district was selected.

There have been number of ICT initiatives implemented by central, various state governments and private sectors for the benefit of the farming community. An effort was made in 2017 to analyse the perceived effectiveness of ICT tools among the farmers in Koppal district of Karnataka state.

The present study was conducted in Sahapur and Bhimpur block were purposively selected based on tribal area of Betul district of M.P. The total sample was consisted 120 respondents for the study. Objective of study is to study the profile of tribal farmers, and to seek suggestive measure to minimize the ill effect of agrochemical as perceived by tribal farmers.

The present study entitled “Development of „GoatVision‟- An Android Based Mobile Application for Goat Farmers” was conceptualized with the objective of developing an android based mobile application in local language. An exploratory research design was used for the present study. A total of 60 respondents were selected by purposive random sampling from Pune and Satara districts of Maharashtra to assess the information needs of the goat farmers and to study the effectiveness, perceived utility of developed mobile application.

For effective extension of technologies it is utmost important that it should be based on the needs of end users. As it is the basic principle of extension that any extension programme should be based on needs and interest of the client. In the present study 300 dairy farmers were selected from five districts of Punjab i.e. Ludhiana, Barnala, Bathinda, Tarn-Taran and Hoshiarpur, to assess their information needs. The findings revealed that most essential information needs were knowledge about infectious diseases (INI=89.00), prevention and control of mastitis (INI=86.
